August 30, 201313 yr I do not. I did once get a catcher for the Charleston Charlies, a farm team for the Indians.
August 30, 201313 yr I did when I was a kid. Have some cool stuff I'm sure worth something. Never had any of it checked out. Green Bay hat signed by Bart Starr, 1976 Yankee program signed by the starters (Reggie,Nettles,Dent,Guidry and a few more) bunch more. I would send out 25 letters a week as a kid when stamps were only .5-.10 cents.
August 30, 201313 yr Nope, never into. I was actually in a profession where I met a lot of pro athletes. I figure if they are not asking for mine, I'm not asking for theirs.
August 30, 201313 yr I don't make it a point to collect them. If I get an opportunity presented itself and it's not going to be a hassle for them, I may get them. I think the only ones I've ever received were: Brandon Phillips on a Frontier League baseball (he was at a Freedom game) Dmitri Young Jr. (when he coached or owned a team in the Frontier League) The Rock (that my brother got for me when he worked at the Bob Evans in Crescent Springs) My mom has a softball signed by all the members of the Big Red Machine.
August 30, 201313 yr When I was little I did. I got a ball signed as a 7 year old by the '87 Reds that I still have. It has Barry Larkin, Dave Parker, Eric Davis, Tony Perez, Paul O'Neil and a few other guys. I had a bunch of WWF wrestlers due to my Dad's office being in close proximity to where they pulled their cars in to unload and load their stuff before taking off. My favorites were the Hulkster, who chatted w/ us for about 20 minutes. Huge for a 10year-old. I also really like the Big Bossman and Hawk from L.O.D. They were riding in a car together and were extremely nice.

They were riding in a car together and were extremely nice. I had a bunch of autographs from WWF wrestlers from back in the late 80's and early 90's. We belonged to Drawbridge, and that's where they would stay when they were in town. I recall Mr. Perfect being a turd. Ravishing Rick Rude and Macho Man were nice guys. The guys from Legion of Doom were the coolest. They hung around for a while talking with everyone, and they made sure everyone had an autograph that wanted one before they left. I know I had more, but can't recall them all. These are just ones that I remember. I did meet Mark Henry, another wrestler who I can't think of, and who we assumed to be Kane at IGA in Crescent Springs in the mid 90's. At the time, Kane was never seen without his mask, so we weren't positive, and we didn't ask. A huge white dude that had to duck to get into the doors with long hair hanging out with 2 known wrestlers, we could only assume it was Kane. They were going through the wrestling magazines. They were basically 3 big kids teasing each other on the stuff in the magazines. Edited September 2, 201313 yr by Randy Parker Rule 8
August 30, 201313 yr I have some signatures that I've collected over the years but I'm not a fanatic about it or anything. Off the top of my head, I have: Pete Rose Way street sign - signed by Pete Johnny Bench Boulevard street sign - signed by Johnny Pete Rose book (I know, who doesn't have an autograph of Pete, right?!) Joe Morgan book Paul O'Neill book (got my pic taken with him too which I have pinned to my cubicle at work) Rick Pitino book Personalized happy birthday picture from Rick Pitino (Thanks again to Joe Finnegan and friends for surprising me with this back in the day) George Foster baseball some various baseball cards that may be in my safe? Baseball signed by some players who were at Pete Rose's softball game before they blew up Riverfront. The only name I can read is Steve Garvey; I can't remember who else signed it! LOL I know I have some Maker's Mark bottles and wine bottles signed by whoever was on the front but I'd have to take inventory to remember who I have. I know I have 2 Tayshaun Prince wine bottles but cannot remember who signed the Maker's bottles. My most cherished autograph though is the one Eric Davis sent to me along with a thank you card after I sent him a get well card for going down in the 1990 World Series. I love Eric the Red!!! I think I still have Kenny Anderson's autograph somewhere too. I met Mike Tyson in AZ years and years ago and got his autograph. Sold it on ebay for $50.
September 1, 201313 yr Through the late '80's and most of the '90's I would set up at baseball card shows all over KY, OH, IN, had tons of autographed material, most of which I obtained by friends who worked at the downtown Cincinnati hotels the players stayed at. Still have a nice collection of autographed material, have a framed autographed jersey of Ozzie Smith hanging on my basement wall. I deliver to a lot of Reds and Bengals who live in the Florence/Union area, but only get their autographs when NewCath or Holy Trinity (my kids grade school) are having fundraisers. The only autograph memorabilia that I really care about is my Jim Rice collection, the HOF Red Sox slugger was my favorite player. The best piece I ever had was given to me by my aunt who used to watch Jim Bunning's kids back in the day. She was given 2 autographed baseballs from the entire 1966 NL All-Star team, Jim Bunning, Bob Gibson, Sandy Koufax, Juan Marichal, Billy McCool, Gaylord Perry, Claude Raymond, Phil Regan, Bob Veale, Tim McCarver, Joe Torre, Felipe Alou. Willie McCovey, Jim Lefebvre, Joe Morgan, Ron Santo, Leo Cárdenal, Maury Wills, Hank Aaron, Dick Allen, Roberto Clemente, Curt Flood, Willie Mays. I got one and my cousin got the other. I ended up selling it to Steve Wolter at Sports Investments (Sports Investments- Sports Memorabilia Sports Collectibles and more -Home Page) in Cincinnati about 10 years ago for "a nice chunk of change". As much as I wanted to keep it, all the autographs were signed using a ball-point pen and I knew the autographs would fade, you could still make them out really good, however the signs were there. I figured I might as well sell it before it became just another baseball.
September 1, 201313 yr I have a slew of them. In fact, I've got them all over the walls here in this room. Frankly, I'm more than sick of looking at them and would love to sell them off...if it wasn't such a hassle to do so.

The GWB signature is as clear as ever; however, Mrs. Bush signed in ballpoint pen. Her autograph has slowly disappeared over the years as the photo hung on my wall. Now, it's as if her autograph was never there.

Frankly, I'm more than sick of looking at them and would love to sell them off...if it wasn't such a hassle to do so. My basement walls used to covered with autographed framed 8x10's and jerseys, then catholic school tuition came into play......Ebay was a great outlet to cash in. This is what would have eventually happened to the baseball I sold, it was only a matter of time.
September 1, 201313 yr I collected them during college (got Patterson's autograph because I happened to be in Kennedy's book store when he was doing a signing, and have the 2007 team's autograph on a football from Fan Day). I also have a Tim Couch autographed football (my Dad & Uncle and his Dad were acquaintances before Tim was ever a huge star). I also took a "History of Baseball" type 1 hour seminar as a freshman at UK where the teacher surprised us by brining in Brandon Webb as a guest speaker on the last day, and have a baseball autographed by him. Ironically, I already had one because our middle school baseball coach was the Uncle of Jonathon Hooker (RIP), and he took our team to a UK game and we got lots of the team members to autograph balls for us after the game. It was a great experience. I wouldn't sell any of them, but I didn't go out of my way looking for any of them either. I keep them in my room back in Kentucky in a case, and will put them in my man cave when I get a house, along with the mounted/stuffed Wildcat that my brother got a taxidermist at home to do for me. The coolest piece of memorabilia I have is a pair of Chuck Hayes game worn UK shorts that I bought at the Blue/White scrimmage one year. They had a huge tent where they were selling game worn memorabilia because apparently, the big Nike schools just get tons of gear that they will only wear a few times.
September 2, 201313 yr When I was little my dad took me over to Cincinnati during the World Series. We went to a downtown hotel and I got the autographs of Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris. I also had the autographs of Frank Robinson and Vada Pinson. I had several other that I don't remember now. I have since lost the book.
