You are right, a single game against the only decent team on their schedule (speaking nationally because that is what this whole issue revolves around) that overall had a terrible year by X standards.

You're trying to force me into a position that I am not arguing. I am not arguing that Bowling Green is or was a top 25 national team. I don't have the wherewithal to argue them as a top 100 team because we simply do not have a factual basis proven on the field to back up the statement, though I absolutely do believe they are around there.

 

BTW, as for 2012, that's what happens when you have 30 seniors graduate, and most of the guys taking their place are a talented albeit inexperienced crop of juniors in the same size class. You're welcome to ask almost anyone, I'm certain no one is going to try to tell you that 2012 was better than 2011. They certainly won't tell you 2012 was better than this season.

Your second move would be to look at both St. X and Highlands. Third, if you are considering any team other than those three, your fuzzy math involves looking at that team in relation to the three mentioned and with that in mind there is NO WAY anyone else in KY deserves a national ranking. It is a complete joke.

National rankings are almost completely guess work. St. X has been nationally ranked in past years. All I am saying is you look at them along with Highlands and Trinity if you are thinking about ranking another team from KY. In no way am I saying they deserve to be ranked. Please don't take that out of context.

The entire national rankings is a joke. Who is to say Scott Co. isn't the best in the country right now?

 

When you look at National Rankings, you can't sit there and say BG being ranked is a joke when you look at every other school ranked, they don't play eachother so how in the world can anyone give a good argument why any school is on the list.

When you start a thread and say you believe 25 teams in Ohio could beat Bowling Green, then there is nothing anyone can say that will change your mind. I don't know if the rankings are correct, but it's pretty obvious that most people in our own state don't believe them. If we were to break the consecutive win record for Kentucky, it would be a fluke, because we didn't play a national schedule. We can't afford to play a national schedule! Let's just say, that we will play anybody we can afford. We will just keep beating whoever is in front of us. I believe the Purples have as much right to be ranked nationally as anybody in our state.

To your first point, I watched several teams on TV the past week and some of them are or were ranked in various top 25s. Additionally, I have seen several of the ranked teams in the past.

Every class in KY lacks depth. I don't want to get off on the tangent of every class (feel free to start another thread) but 5A is bad, real bad.

 

If you are looking to place fault, place it on all the members schools that want six classes of football and four teams from each district making the playoffs.
