How will Boone County stop Drew Barker from...

Running the Ball!?!?

How would you do it?

Will they be able to do it?

They wont.

Cant, Im to fat to do it.

Nope.

With Cameron at UK, i'd think alot of teams are considering playing the receivers man and committing the safeties to run support, hoping to make Drew a passer. I'd commit to stopping the run and taking my chance with the throw. Woody wasn't completely wrong all those years ago.

Well the guy (Coach Griff) that will come up with a game plan. Boone may or may not win, but it will create the blueprint to stop him. Just watch. Again not saying it's a win for Boone, but it will start the downfall for Conner.

On the other hand, BC didn't have an answer for CovCath last week so not much to grasp onto if you're a Rebel fan.

I'm not following. What downfall?

I have never seen Barker play. Size wise and running #s wise he looks similar to Towles. How do they compare and contrast?

From what I've seen, Barker is the better runner, and Towles was the better passer. That's just from one game I've seen from each. I'd take either one of them.

Blitz him and hit him it will be hot. So maybe he will get fatigued and come out of the game.

I agree with this, with the caveat that Barker threw the ball better than I have ever seen him in the Beechwood scrimmage.

If you blitz him you can have fun trying to catch him from behind because once he breaks the line of scrimmage it is game over. Boone Co could help itself by actually sustaining a drive and keeping Barker off the field as much as possible. Heck two or three nice drives can do wonders for a defense. Maybe Conner rushes things or tries for the big play after sitting awhile.

I don't buy the "PT is a better passer" thinking. PT is probably better on the deep pass. Drew has a much better and quicker release. Add in that he probably reads Ds better.

Physically, PT has about 1 to 2 i ches and 15 to 25 pounds on Drew.

Drew will not be a running QB in college. UK recruited him as a passer.

My opinion was based one one game I've seen them both play. I think I would agree with the quicker release part. The game I saw Barker play, he did make several, obvious bad decisions throwing the ball, and eventually won the game with his legs. Obviously, you've seen him more, and I'll take your word for it. I'd still take either of them on my team.
