If USA Today has Joey Votto 5th in the NL MVP race tracker.....

Haven't used baseball reference once. I just pay attention and listen when announcers share relevant stats/tv shows relevant stats. And I'm a partial season ticket holder. So yes. I watch many games. Thanks for asking. I know good baseball when I see it. I also know relevant stats.

Then answer the question, what about Frazier?

Soft crap never wins in the post season. Purely eyeball on that one.

Then you're blind as a bat. Check Arroyo's two post season starts as a Red. Re-watch them an get back to me. Absurd statement.

You say were both wrong. I say were both right.

You two keep missing the point. Nobody is saying you're totally ignoring the stats. I don't only look at stats to judge a player. However I don't trust the "eyeball" test from bgp'ers more than stats.

On this point we agree 100%. That is the primary reason the Braves and their Cy Young-laden pitching staff were chronic under-achievers in the post-season.

Also why the Cardinals bullpen, as much as I loathe them and their existence, will be a huge weapon in October.

@Nicholaspkirby: Brandon Phillips .284 OBP since the All-Star Break ranks 4th worst in the NL (min 150 PA). His .385 SLG is 5th worst. #Reds

Don't let factual stats get in the way of the old eye test GT. All I need to do is look and see, oh wait

Bronson Arroyo for the Reds in the playoffs. 2010 5.1 innings 1 ER. 2012 7 innings 0 ER. As a Cincinnati Red 12.1 1 ER.

Do these stats not count b/c he didn't throw hard enough?

Shocking he is coming back to what his numbers typically are on the back of his baseball card.

If we go by eyeball tests and back it up with stats, Zack Cozart is the best hitter on team if we are looking at August. Why isn't he batting fourth now?

You need a hit in a big situation. Who do you want?

Phillips, Cozart or Frazier?

Then the REds have no MVP. And you need a stool to see anyway.

Votto...

Hell, Choo gets to .290 and he is MVP, IMO.
He's the best baserunner.

I am starting to think Bruce is the MVP. Both batting and in the field.
