You are mistaken mercer senior high has never been to the sweet sixteen that was mercer county high and if you want to count that trip count the two from harrodsburg

I dont know what you mean, in 2000 Mercer County lost to Scott County in state by around 45-50 points they were like 15-17 , 15-18. Mercer County was a school and Harrodsburg was a school at that time.

In the new Mercer that came about in 2006/2007 no they haven't been to the state and have no banners but somewhere there is a banner that says Mercer County 2000 regional champoions then there are other banners somewhere that say 1996 and 1960 regional champions Harrodsburg. They were two separate places at the time so I dont know why you would count them together.

When Britt takes them to state in the touirnament program it will say previous appearances , 2000 nothing more nothing less.

When other schools go to state they dont honor all the old appearances by the smaller schools that consolidated.

Then hang the banners or stop counting the khaa does not look at if they the same school I personally would like for them to honor all the region champions

Never thought of it but yes that is a good idea, should have not only mercer county 2000 banner but also harrodsburgs two in there as well.

what makes a great coach at the high school le

level?

If I were gonna list factors, I'd say:

Putting Players in College (bonus if they probably wouldn't have developed the same under a different coach)

Winning Region

Getting more out of your team than someone else would have

State Tournament Performance

Exceeding the school's usual expectations and record

Being a solid citizen in your school & community

No doubt many of the coaches listed are very good coaches, but one name I think needs to be added is Glen Drury from Anderson Co. I have been watching them for a while now...the man knows the game and can coach and probably gets as much out of his players as anyone. They don't usually have the best athletes and usually aren't the biggest and strongest, but they play tough and get after it.

Sorry you are mad, but we will keep him as long as we can.
Sure you wouldn't like a trade? Ours for yours?
I've got no argument with a lot of the names already mentioned here. But, I'll toss one out that I don't think gets anywhere near the credit for what he's done, especially considering where he's at (small, rural, public school)...and that's Gallatin County's Jon Jones.

He's in my top 5 for sure.

Steiner Simon Kenton and Chevalier Dixie. Up and coming coach Mcfarland at Ryle.

Wow. You feeling ok? LOL.

Steiner? Really... Forgot there was no mention in any way of SK. But I do agree with Coach Chevy.

Naw..Like what we got.....:D

Glen Drury - Anderson County (Maybe not top a mortal lock for top 5, but he hovers around it year in, and year out, IMO).

Mike Code-Bishop Brossart

Honorable mention Jason Hinson - Augusta probably best motivator

While we're on the topic of coaches, I was wondering:

What currently active coach has been at the same school the longest?

and...

What currently active coach has been coaching the longest overall?

Two really good questions, but I have no idea on either answer.
