Basketball season for 2013/2014 should provide another exciting year. What should we expect from Holy Cross ( Covington)? Remember, please be constructive.

Holy Cross will be very good this year and live/die by the 3.

 

Won't have much size so expect new Coach Schrand to try to have his boys play more uptempo than seen in the past with HC.

Look for Tyler Bezold to break out this year and take over for Holy Cross. He can really stroke it from behind the arc and is very consistent. He had a huge summer with the NKY Bulldogs. He is extremely fundamental, has a high basketball IQ, and a great shot.

Holy Cross lost an awful lot. I hope you are right, as I always enjoy the local teams being top notch. I think they will struggle this year. Losing Campbell, both McClendons, Gabbard?, Tiberi, and others. Pretty much their varsity squad. If they have a schedule like last year (and don't get any transfers) then .500 would be pushing it. I meant young...my bad. I think HC only has 1 or 2 seniors this year and could start all underclassmen.

When I saw Bezold play in June, he looks to becoming into his own. Someone said he runs with the NKU team and I would expect someone who is around that level of basketball to become a solid player.

They will be young. I watched Bezold play a game in July and he was out of his mind. Heard a coach basically call him "inhuman". Now, where I think he'll be human like this season, I do believe he will play, start, and do some real good things at HC. He appears to be a very smart player. Needs to add some athleticism, quickness, and increase his handling ability, and defending smaller/quicker guards. He will hustle his butt off, plays smart, shares the ball, and if he gets hot, lookout.

Really tough year for Ryan Schrand.

We all had the same reaction to his first post until we saw his later post correcting it.

Unless some real experience walks through the doors we don't know about, they will struggle against the big boys.

Long season for the Indians. Many new faces including the coach. They will struggle to get to 500.

Working on getting live stats for boys varsity basketball this year (same company that we used for football). Access for coaches, media, and fans during and after the games. Hope we can make it happen.

Thanks Pete - I'll touch base with you again off line to get this done. I think we have a couple people lined up to help us with this.
