13-yo beaten by 3 15yo boys on bus, while driver watches

Featured Replies

But the other students aren't just as guilty? All the shame falls on Grandpa? Even when I was a kid we kept the fights fair. There is a whole bus load of kids that did nothing but Grandpa is at fault for following training? Maybe you should be mad at the folks who trained Grandpa and not Grandpa.

Now that's what I'm saying. One on one was cool, this was not. And even one on one, there was a point that it crossed the line. I would imagine I wouldn't have to say much because if this was mine, the older brother would have got involved before I had to. Kids have no code today.

Agreed about the students. Those boys are cowards. Regardless of training, you will never convince me that letting a kid get beat like that was the right thing to do.

Your not thinking about the whole picture. Bus Driver gets involved in the incident, one of the 3 boys laying punches, jumps into the drivers seat, drives the bus, crashes the bus, it flips over, fire, multiple kids hurt, killed, all because the driver got involved. There is a reason the drivers are to alert authorities of the issue and maintain control of the bus.

If they wanted to do that, they would've done it. It's pretty damn clear the bus driver wasn't going to stop them from doing anything.

And what else was there to control on the bus? The kids that didn't have it in them to intervene? They weren't doing anything.

I'm not saying it was the right or wrong thing to do. I'm just not mad at Grandpa.

I guess I'm not mad either, I just don't get it.

I'm with you Crash. I'd have been fired if I was the bus driver I suppose. Probably sued. Maybe whipped, at his age anyway.

I haven't seen it brought up yet, but no one has an issue with the school allowing these boys to ride the same bus as the 13 yr old, the same day he told them they tried to sell him drugs? That's just asking for trouble. Stupidity on the schools part, cowardice on the part of the rest of the passengers, and there is a corner in hell reserved for lowlifes like these three punks.

I'm baffled that people are ragging on the bus driver. He did exactly what he was supposed to do. He would've only escalated the assualt had he tried to intervene.

Agreed. :thumb:

Well hell, guess I'll go back to work now. We agree.

I'm with Spin on this one....If that's my kid, those three punks are all paying a visit to the ICU. I'd gladly turn myself in afterwards and let a jury of my peers decide my fate.

It's your fault. I posted first. :D

Your as liable for doing nothing as doing too much. Thats how it works as a school employee.

My dad is in his 60s, if he got in the middle of it I would be mad, he is not as most 60+yr old men to fight 3 teens in shape or fit for it.

The longer I think about it, I'd "profile" these kids (because of their actions if it happened to mine, not their skin color). I'd follow them, learn their patterns. Wait until I caught them one by one, no matter how long it took, and I'd give them similar treatment. Yep, I said it.

This makes 3 of us, I definitely pulling a "Charles Bronson" (Death Wish) on them. :lol2:
