Walter, please explain to me how you have Pangallo ranked as a top player in the state for the class of 2015 yet in the 9th region preview you list 2 kids of the same 2015 class ahead of him. Bo Schuh and B. Stanley? All great players, just wondering why these 2 don't get your blessing to be mentioned in the state's elite yet Pangallo does??

All great players I'm just trying to figure the logic in this one.

 

To be honest with you, I forgot all about them or I would have included those two.

 

Bo Schuh, Brendan Stanley, and Zach Pangallo are all three as good as they come after the obvious selections of Bolden, Justice, Spalding , and a couple of the other top 10 guys.

 

Those three would certainly be deserving of somewhere 10-20. Again, the problem with Stanley is he took the summer off because of baseball. That is why people, myself included, forget about him.

I think James Bolden, Ray Spalding, and Cam Justice are obvious selections and can be in any order 1-3.

 

After that, you have a lot of kids making a case to be not only top 10, but also top 20.

 

I do think Zach Pangallo of Newcath is a top 20 kid for this class. The problem is that he is also a standout baseball player so he doesn't play AAU ball. I know he is already garnering Division I and II interest for hoops and I'd put him up against the majority of the other pg's listed in this thread. Here is some video of him against Holmes last year:

 

 

#11 in the above video...I know it is only a few clips but notice how smooth his jump shot is and how well he sees the floor and find teammates. Also hit the shot that sent the game to OT after Holmes took a 2 pt lead on a Bolden 3 with under 10 secs left.

 

This is a highlight video and I see nothing that warrants him as a top 10 player in the state! Your video of Bolden had HS star written all over it, and I think that's what a top 10 player is/should be. Real nice player, really like his game. And, maybe by the time he is done, but to give him that title now, considering the team he had around him, it's too early to say top 10 in the state for 2015. And, how much basketball work did he put in this summer for basketball if he plays baseball.... I just think of kids like Bolden, Spalding, McDonald, justice and he isn't on that level yet. I like Matt Rose, Tanner Johnson, Hagen Tyler, and even Jax Levitch better right now.

I said he was deserving of a top 20 ranking and I stick by that. How many times have you actually seen him play?

Being someone who "evaluates" (not sure what the rest of us on here do, mostly watch i guess) the game, and players, as you do... I would think you could/would name your actual top 10 players in the state (maybe in order) and then throw in a few to talk about. Later in the thread you digress and say Pangallo is top 20, which I believe is more likely. He is a very good player, I agree there.

 

In regards to seeing him play, I saw him play twice with Omega 2 summers ago, 3 times with S. Stars last summer, and watched 3 of his HS games last year. So, all together, 8 times. Each game he played well, and never let me down in regards to what I expected (fast, good passer, nice athlete, solid defender, nice little jump shot, can handle the ball, could be bigger/stronger, sometimes faster down the floor than his teammates), but then again, I didn't expect to see a top 10 player in the state either.

 

Really like Pangallo's game, and think he'll be the engine that drives NCC this year. Just needed clarifications.

Can take anyone 1on1 with his speed and explosive leaping ability.. avg around 3.5 blocks a game last season as a sophomore

How does he compare to Pelle?

Pelle was an amazing player I've heard people compare them together. Pelle had a better shot but I think by time millers senior year he will be close to as good as pelle was. If he puts the effort in
