Dixie, Beechwood, Cooper, and Boone.

The short time that I was there, Beechwood looked really good. Fieger throws a nice deep ball and has great touch. It didn't take them long to score the first possession and I think it might have been the first play that they scored on..

 

Dixie had a nice TD catch (sorry I don't have names) across the middle as well that was well covered.

 

Cooper had an INT out in the flat and Owen Griffin just missed a pick on a well placed ball by Cooper QB.

 

Good to finally meet Guru today. Wish I could've stayed longer but have a lot going on today and a lot that I need to finish.

Random thoughts:

 

Cooper - Looked solid to start the day but appeared to tail off. I thought they looked better last week at Campbell. They were flat and lacked emotion.

 

Boone County - Started a little slow but then heated up. They rotated QBs and both of them looked solid. Lamb is the clear #1 but Frosh QB Peter Westoff played well. Boone definitely improved over last week - and even improved during the 7 on 7 but like Cooper, Boone lacked emotion and appeared flat at times.

 

Dixie - Well organized and emotionally charged. Dixie is very cohesive. Dixie had a lot of nice looking athletes. Dixie QB Drew Moore is the real deal. One play Moore was moving to his left and threw the ball 53 yards in the air and had plenty left in the tank. He is a D1 Prospect and he reminds me of Colin Kaepernick.

 

Beechwood - The Tigers are like an Ant Colony. They are all tiny, they all do their job, and they are very efficient. Beechwood QB Kyle Fieger is out of sight. He is extremely accurate throwing every type of pass including moving to his left. Fieger reminds me of Drew Brees. Simply put, if you can't defend the pass you will not beat Beechwood this year.

On Moore, he is only a junior and he is in the process of getting his man body on. Assuming he stays injury free this season I think Drew Moore will generate a TON of D1 interest.

 

In 7 on 7 Fieger is way beyond good, he is great. We both agree they will score a lot of TDs on not only home runs but runs after the catch. A couple of Tigers (not sure on names) looked really good gaining yards after the catch.

 

And is the correct spelling Feiger or Fieger, I want to be sure I get it right?

Lets make sure you're stating my belief correctly. I've only seen him as a sophomore and one 7s this summer. Very exciting player. Mechanics can get better. So "yet" seems to be fair. I'm a fan simply because he's exciting.

How does Boone's defense look? Curious to see how they develop on that side of the ball this season.

I will say this for the Boone defense, they play extremely physical. If ur WR's cannot handle press coverage and cannot get off the ball they will struggle. Not sure how their front line will be but with the corners pressing nearly 100% of the time they have the ability to disrupt most teams offense.
