Batman/Superman movie

All kinds of chatter today about Joaquin Phoenix being heavily pursued by Warner Brothers to play the role of Lex Luthor. If true, this is the best news concerning this movie we've had to date IMO. Phoenix is a certified weirdo, but the dude is an outstanding actor.

Are they trying to put too much into this movie? I have had high hope for this movie since the announcement, now unless it has a run time approaching 3 hours I'm not sure how everything is going to work with that many characters.

Phoenix is a great actor and a weirdo as RP said, but can the studios not attempt to come up with a Superman Villain not named Luthor or Zod?

Film pushed back to May 6, 2016. Was originally slated for July 17, 2015.

^ I wonder why it was pushed back.

Hopefully to make it not suck like a lot of people fear it will.

2015 will still be a monster of a year for big budget blockbusters

You could give me one million choices as to who I would cast as Lex Luthor & I'd never get to Jesse Eisenberg. I mean, I like what he's done in other movies, but I don't see this at all.

Eisenberg is perfect for the role of Luthor IMO.

Agreed completely.

I don't doubt that Jeremy Irons can do Alfred....but he's certainly not what I think of when I think of Alfred.

Maybe it's because he reminds me, appearance wise, of a young John Shea (who played Luthor in the Lois and Clark TV show of the 90s), but it seems perfect IMO.

Same here. Hope I'm wrong because this is one I'll see first day.

Eisenberg does a great job playing intelligent and quick witted characters, and he can DEFINITELY do antagonistic if he wants to:

I think those are all pretty solid traits of Lex Luthor.

That I don't see at all. As RP said...a million choices and I don't think he would have ever blipped on my radar. But...who knows, maybe he can pull it off.

Interesting choice to say the least.
