At the 2015 All-Star Game in Cincinnati...

Here's what is so damning, IMHO, about Pete Rose betting on baseball. Let's assume that when he bet on on the Reds, he only bet on them to win; never to lose. I keep hearing about "how that isn't so bad".

What does that tell you about the games where he DIDN'T bet on the Reds?

It tells you that he wouldn't win or lose any money on the game...

It tells me that Browning or Rijo wasn't pitching :D

Davey's the guy for the job. Anyone remember he had to pitch an inning at one point late in his career??

I've heard that before and on an interview Pete was asked about that, he said he bet on the Reds to win every single game and never took days off betting the Reds. He challenged reporter to verify that fact with MLB.

I'd like to see all 8 of the in the field starters from Big Red Machine throw out first pitch. Include Pete but make him no bigger a deal than any of the others.

There is a precedence for allowing Pete to be part of the All-Star festivities, it has been done before after all.

The 40 year reunion would be a great time to honor the starting lineup from the Machine. Why not have multiple pitches thrown by the entire starting lineuup.

The least they could do is let poor Ray Fosse catch the first pitch without having someone barrel down on him.

Doing roids helps you perform, thus helping your team win.

Rose bet on baseball. I think you have to be incredibly naïve to think he didn't bet against the Reds. That is, IMO, 100x worse than juicing. :idunno:

Call me naïve as well. He definitely bet on baseball, but I really don't think he bet against the Reds.

I hope there is a Cincinnati Red in the Home Run Derby. Could be a little more fun for the Cincy natives attending the event.

That was his one defense, that he never bet against the Reds, MLB nor any one else as ever said that he ever bet against the Reds. When the investigation has been talked about by the investigators and others they have always said that he bet on the Reds to Win and had no evidence that he bet against them. Pete forever tarnished himself with this scandal, but there was one thing more important to him than Money! Winning, Pete's ego would never allow him to bet against a team he was on or managing.

Sorry, but it's clear Pete will do ANYTHING for money. Not sure why you all think betting against the Reds wouldn't be included. The dude has lied about everything. Yet, he's somehow automatically telling the truth about that? Please.

And that is your opinion

Roses EGO and Winning are all that have ever really mattered to him, money was/is a by-product. Pete Rose would/could never bet against himself in any way...EGO way to big for that.

And yet somehow MLB refuses to come out and say that Pete Rose bet against the Reds?
