Joe Morgan would be the best person to throw out the first pitch. Just ask him.

Either Wayne Krenchicki or Bo Diaz

Doing roids helps you perform, thus helping your team win.

Rose bet on baseball. I think you have to be incredibly naïve to think he didn't bet against the Reds. That is, IMO, 100x worse than juicing. :idunno:

Call me naive. No doubt he bet. I don't think he bet against them. When your as competitive as Pete was, winning is the only thing. Ask Ray Fosse. Gambling is also considered a disease like drugs. Pete was not a rhodes scholar either. He was a slow learner in school.

PED's were not against the rules I don't think when they happened. As for the "Integrity of the game" I would rate both infractions about the same.

I think the PED users damaged baseball more than Pete betting on the Reds. I despise the users with a passion even greater than UKMF's hate for Rose. I have zero concern about the integrity of any game Rose was involved in. I question every single game the PED users were involved in. Being on the field competing as a cheater tarnishes every game.

It's going to be difficult to get Bo to throw out the first pitch.

2015 will be the 40th anniversary of the 75 team so you have to have someone from that team. I could see getting Larkin involved as well since he's the newest Red HOF member.

Or you can get Bill Lee to throw his eephus pitch.

Gambling tarnishes the very integrity of the game. Look at soccer. Look at how many gambling scandals are occurring and how every decision by a player, coach, or ref is scrutinized. Look at the effect of Tim Doughnahy (sp?) in the NBA and how suspicious people got.

PED's tarnish the numbers people put up. However, it doesn't make me doubt that the games were legit. Once you dobut whether games were played for competition, it becomes like watching WWE.

Pete has always cared about one thing and one thing only....How to make Pete as much $ as possible. I have no doubt in my mind he'd have zero issue competitively or morally betting not only on, but against his own team.

We can agree to disagree on that. Baseball and being Pete Rose is all he knows. Unfortunately thats good and bad for him. I think your giving Pete way to much credit. He's really not that smart.

Oscar Mayer Bologna. He may not be a MENSA candidate, but he is a baseball Savant. He can recall the statistics of almost every player that he came across or admired. He remembers his games. The guy is the Albert Einstein of baseball.

How about the shortstops from each team (both the 40th anniversary, and the 25th)? You could have Davey one-hop the pitch to Barry, and it'd look normal.

In all seriousness, what other franchise has just two shortstops for three-and-a-half decades?

Here's what is so damning, IMHO, about Pete Rose betting on baseball. Let's assume that when he bet on on the Reds, he only bet on them to win; never to lose. I keep hearing about "how that isn't so bad".

What does that tell you about the games where he DIDN'T bet on the Reds?

I mean, there's truth in, I mean, what you say.
