June 28, 201313 yr Who are other names besides Leslie that did not get drafted? Myck Kabango, BJ Young, and Trevor Mbakwe
June 28, 201313 yr Terrible draft, but an entertaining one at the same time. Gary Parrish looks ahead to next year's lottery: 2014 NBA Draft: Projecting next year's lottery picks - CBSSports.com Will be interesting to go back and look at this next year after the draft. This time last year Shabazz was projected to be the #1 draft and look where he went.
June 28, 201313 yr DeShaun Thomas (Ohio State) goes 58th to the Spurs CJ Leslie goes undrafted I'm a little shocked by both of these. I would have thought that Thomas, a proven scorer would have went much higher. Guess I was too biased towards him.
June 28, 201313 yr Why take Bennett #1, when you could've easily traded out of it and got him later and an additional 1st round pick (either this year or in next year's loaded draft) and probably a few more young controllable assets? Cavs are ignorant.
June 28, 201313 yr Simmons really added to the draft. I enjoyed having him on there. And I love that Jay Bilas is a part of it because he really knows his stuff. Does the homework and adds great perspective. I wish they would have Charles Barkley on there for a little extra humor.

Cavs are ignorant. Maybe they tried to trade out of the #1 spot, but no one wanted to really give up anything to move up? Take the guy you like the most. I kind of like the pick, I think that he has a ton of upside. But I've been awfully wrong before.

I kind of like the pick, I think that he has a ton of upside. But I've been awfully wrong before. I disagree. Teams would've moved up if they weren't asking for too much. They could've gotten Bennett in the 6 or 7 slot, if not a few picks later. Offer Sacramento (wanted McLemore) the #1 pick for the #7 pick this year, and a 1st rounder next year. You still get the guy you want, and you get another lottery pick in the loaded 2014 draft.
June 28, 201313 yr Simmons really added to the draft. He's not very good on TV but something about the way he approaches things with a fans prospective is appealing to me.

June 28, 201313 yr Am I the only person not seeing Olidipo as some kind of future NBA star? I see him as a Ben Gordon type player. Really good, don't get me wrong, but people have a lot of high hope for a 6'4" SG making it big. Maybe he will transition over to the PG position really well??
June 28, 201313 yr The way I looked at the top of the first round there were only a handful of guys available that people feel will be secure in their NBA futures. Maybe not as All Star caliber players, but guys people believe will most likely start for a team or at least be a really nice role player. Anthony Bennett was one of 5 or 6 guys to fit that list. Outside of those few guys it would not shock me to see everyone else out of the NBA by 2020. I did not like the pick but no other player really stood out beyond him so far that you had to draft them.
June 28, 201313 yr Poor Bill Simmons. He's the poster child for sports fanboys. He is to Boston professional sports what PepRock01 is to the Star Wars franchise. For a guy who's OBSESSED with the business side of sports, he looked like he was going to cry last night when his team was broken up. Just own it? Doc Rivers owns plenty and he doesn't owe Bill Simmons a darn thing.
