Mike Wolfe was runner-up to Barber for Mr. Football. All decade for the state of Kentucky. All American at TMC. One of my favorite teachers, and to top it off, a big brother figure for me when he coached us. I vote for him.

 

Also, Bret Dietz, if you take into account post high school. All American at Hanover, Arena Football ROY w/ Tampa Bay.

I agree mex. My son was lucky to have Coach Wolfe when he went to Ryle.

Only a kicker? Kickers are usually the highest scoring players on the team. And good kickers win a lot of games.

Shane Popham and Sam Flynn were two guys that I had the honor of playing with. Admittedly, I don't know enough CovCath history to really pick a top three, but those guys absolutely belong in the discussion. They were without a doubt the best players at their positions in CCH history.

Today is Mike's birthday. He really blossomed into the stud player at the very end of his junior year and then, obviously, at HHS.

 

As I've said many times on here hardly any of Mike's classmates harbor any ill will. It was mainly adults that got upset. Of course, it didn't help when he scored the only 2 TDs against CCH in the playoff game.

I will start with Woolf and I spelled it correctly.

Give me Sam Flynn, Jeremy Madden and Brett Deitz. We win. Game over.

Some others worthy of mention,Jimmy Vonhandorf,David Wilson,Barry Jones.The one player who stood out to me was Greg Lukey.He was a monster of a running back and it's a shame he didn't finish there.Truly one of their best backs(all due respect to the many great backs)to play at Cov.Cath.
