June 12, 201313 yr Typical idiot Dusty. Very familiar Dusty pattern sitting Cozart. I have no idea why he does it, but Dusty often will sit a player after he has a nice day at the plate. I would like to hear Dusty's explanation of that one. Perhaps the reason today with Cozart is his poor history versus Woods. But like I said, Dusty has done this a number of times (sitting a player after a good game) since being manager. I also am curious why the proponent of L, R, L, R moved Choo to #2 and put lefties back to back versus Woods. Do lefties hit Woods better than righties?

Someone mentioned earlier I think that (I hope I remember this correctly) Choo hasn't hit the best against Wood therefore moving hit to #2 where Votto is behind him may get him more fastballs to hit.

Joe Price has talked about this on CBT a few times. Basically sitting a player that is slumping badly doesn't result in a mental off day because the guy is so stressed on getting things going. If you sit after things start to turn around you can actually take a mental day off and not have your brain spinning in circles...

Basically sitting a player that is slumping badly doesn't result in a mental off day because the guy is so stressed on getting things going. If you sit after things start to turn around you can actually take a mental day off and not have your brain spinning in circles... Interesting. UKMF? .... any comments on this?
