Cards and Cuzzi over the years have had a history of animus. Like I said, bad calls are part of the game. Was Carpenter hit by Chapman one batter before? I didn't see it.

I'm just saying that all 1st base coaches are going to give the safe signal on any play that might be close or questionable. That shouldn't define whether the runner was truly safe or not.
