June 18, 201313 yr Another good game between IU and MSU. MSU kept plugging, made the key it and key defensive plays when they had to. Both teams had chances to gain a bigger lead and didn't. MSU's coach Cohen (former U.K. coach) really works his pitching staff. The MSU first line starter is "Johnny Wholestaff", Cohen puts a starter out there (doesn't seem to matter who) and has him go as hard as he can for around 3 innings, then brings in his rotation of a very good bullpen group to his closer. I am not sure how many pitchers he went through but it seemed like quite a few. Mississippi St. stays in the winners bracket and now has the big advantage of not having to play until Friday. One win away from the Championship series. I was glad to see IU go down, I am glad anytime / anything IU loses. Now the 3pm loser bracket game later today has #1 UNC vs. #4 LSU. Two teams that a lot of people thought would be in the championship. I picked LSU to win the NC so I'll stay with that pick. Miss. St and the winner of the UCLA/NC St. game will be looking awfully good. I am pulling for LSU and MSU now.There have been teams in the past come out of the loser bracket and win it all so "it ain't over till' its over". Man, I love the CWS.
June 18, 201313 yr North Carolina just seems to have lost a lot of steam in the SEC tournament and I have not been impressed with their play since then. But they keep advancing. I think they knock LSU out today. Of all the teams still playing NC State seems to be playing at the best level right now.
June 19, 201313 yr Louisville getting embarrassed right now. Choke job on the big stage... Sad. Didn't that look an awful lot like their performance in the Big East Tournament? They lose to UConn 3-2 in 12 innings in the opener, then get hammered by Rutgers 9-1. It's weird. Hard to figure this bunch out. The way they looked against Vandy, how could you not give them a good shot at winning the title?

They hit to the warning track several times with men on ( one time a catch at the wall with bases loaded). This is really a pitchers park.

There is a thread in this forum discussing different opinions on your question.....Bats, baseballs, etc. - "college baseball bats, composite, aluminum, wooden". That one has different opinions on reasons for the lack of offense.
June 20, 201313 yr The only game in the tournament that I have missed was the UCLA/N.C. State game on Tuesday. Last nights elimination game was another excellent game in this years CWS. Oregon St. eliminates Indiana 1-0 in a very good pitchers duel. Looking forward to tonight's rematch of the N.C. State / UNC game in round one that N.C. State won.

TD Stadium's dimensions are 335 down the foul lines, 375 to the power alleys and 408 to dead center. Alex Box at LSU is 330, 365, 405. meh!
