And Louisville is headed to the Super Regional!

UL has excellent pitching and that is absolutely critical heading into the supers and CWS should they make it to Omaha.

Any idea who U of L will be matched up against?

The winner of tonight's Ga Tech/Vandy game. Ga Tech wins, we play in Lou. Vandy wins, we play in Nashville.

North Carolina and Vandy both facing elimination games today. Interesting also that right now the SEC has only 1 team in the final sixteen. Although Miss St., South Carolina and Vandy are all still playing in their respective regionals, the SEC has not dominated as much as I thought they might.

The ACC has been the league dominating to this point. Florida State, Virginia, and NC State are all in with Georgia Tech and North Carolina still alive with a chance to make Super Regionals tonight.

Football will be a big step for Louisville but the Cardinals are about to enter a whole new world when the baseball team joins the league. Man that's a tough baseball conference.

Took my son to the game on Sunday, he had a lot of fun on the playground and I had a lot of fun watching the game.

This year he's attended a Sugar Bowl win, a National Championship and a Regional win. Pretty good run for a 2 year old.

Vandy/Louisville starts tomorrow at 3 PM, ESPN.

Vandy/Louisville starts tomorrow at 3 PM, ESPN.

Tough row to hoe for the Cardinals. Vandy has a nasty southpaw they're going to put out there in Game 1 and I believe Louisville has six left-handed batters in their normal lineup.

From Vandy's web site...

Dores hammer Cardinals to retain Barrel

No. 3 Vanderbilt hammered No. 12 Louisville 10-2 Tuesday night at Patterson Stadium to win the Battle of the Barrel for the second straight year.

The winner pitcher was Walker Buehler, a freshman from Henry Clay, the loser was Kyle McGrath, a sophomore from Butler. Both pitchers will be in the pen for this series.

The listed starters for today's game, again from the Vanderbilt site, are LHP Kevin Ziomek (11-2, 1.92) for the Commodores and RHP Chad Green (10-3, 2.22) for the Cardinals.

Cards win today....one more...then on to OMAHA!

Friday:

UCLA 5 Cal State Fullerton 3, UCLA leads the series 1-0. Game 2 currently underway on ESPN3.

LSU 2 Oklahoma 0, LSU leads the series 2-0. Game 2 currently underway on ESPN2.

Today:

Louisville beat Vandy 5-3. UofL leads the series 1-0. Game 2 tomorrow at 4 pm (ESPN).

North Carolina 6 South Carolina 5, UNC leads the series 1-0. Game 2 tomorrow at 1 pm (ESPN).

Indiana 10 Florida State 9, IU leads the series 1-0. Game 2 tomorrow at 1 pm (ESPNU).

NC State 4 Rice 3, NCST leads the series 1-0. Game 2 tomorrow at 4 pm (ESPNU).

Mississippi State 11 Virginia 6, MSU leads the series 1-0. Game 2 tomorrow at 7 pm (ESPNU).

Kansas State 6 Oregon State 2 (10 innings), KSU leads the series 1-0. Game 2 tomorrow at 10 pm (ESPNU).

LSU 11 Oklahoma 1, LSU wins the series 2-0.

Rooting for LSU, Louisville and Indiana in that order...

UCLA follows LSU to Omaha beating Cal State Fullerton 3-0.

Well, I'm eating my hat on Game 1 but this is the national No. 2, so they're trotting out another fantastic pitcher in today's game.

Good luck, Cardinals.

Todays games just starting...UNC vs. USC / IU vs. FSU.

Indiana has surprised me all through the regionals and now vs. FSU in the supers, I'll be pulling for FSU in this series (of course, I would maybe root for the Taliban vs. IU, lol)

I would love to see South Carolina, Miss. State and Vandy advance in the supers although #1 ranked UNC will make it tough and with the way UL is playing right now they can make it tough on anyone.

LSU has impressed me more than anyone, I picked them to win in the regionals plus to win it all in the CWS.

Gotta love college baseball, the CWS is always great. Omaha does such a great job every year in hosting the National Championship tournament. I hope that the NCAA keeps the CWS in Omaha.
