Ryle 7 Covington Catholic 2 (9th Region 1st Round)

Featured Replies

Slight concussion. Can play Wednesday. One of rules best hitters. They sure would like him in the lineup. Deter so did a good job filling in for him.

Agreed, TOG #68.

Now that explains a lot. I was wondering!

Ryle's best hitter in my opinion. And one of the if not the best defensive first basemen in the region. I hope he is alright, it looked way worse then a slight concussion.

Talked to Tyler (Ryle 1Bman #16) after game. He is fine. Nice mark on his forehead where he got hit, either by runner's elbow or helmet. He'll be ready to go Wednesday night. Raines did a nice job filling in for him tonight.

Is there a program that is more overhyped than CovCath?

Why don't you ask Coach Roesel (and the rest of the region's coaches) if he thinks they are overhyped? I think you'll find respect for the coach and the program, not hype. Congrats to Ryle on the win and good luck to Coach Roesel.

Coop quite frankly I was surprised he didn't come out immediately as he seemed to be out cold for a couple of seconds and if the rules of concession are the same as they are in Football and I think they are, he has to get an Doctor to release him to play, prior to his playing on Wednesday.

The KHSAA is not screwing around with concessions at all anymore!

BTW congrats and I am pulling for you guys to win it all.

Why did Davis start for CCH? If you were ranking CCH's starters, where would he be ranked? In retrospect, Ward also gave up runs when he came in, but I question why Davis was starting this game for CCH? I don't recall Davis being considered CCH's #1 starter.

Thanks as always paNDA.

Old Guy, what did you think of Ryle tonight?

ttt

Slight concussion? FYI, there is no such thing as a "slight" concussion. And he can play? Read the new rules on Concussions! Are you serious Deep Voice?

If the diagnosis is concussion - he will not be playing Wednesday nor anytime the rest of the week. There is a protocol that the Doctor will follow and to return to action in less than 5 days will not happen.

Trainers are being taught to err on the side of caution when an athlete takes a blow to the head. If it was as bad as being described by some of the posts on this site, player should have been removed from game when it happened.

He actually finished the inning and then was replaced.

Just about what I would except of a senior laden team, they did what they needed to do to win a game. They recorded hits when they needed them and played well in the field.

They should win the Ninth.....
