Oriental Wok Owner Nearly Hit by Train, Faces DUI Charge | The River City News

Oriental Wok owner Mike Wong is facing a drunk driving charge after police say they found him and his luxury Bentley parked squarely on some railroad tracks in Ft. Mitchell. In spite of the darkness, the alert conductor of an oncoming train was able to stop in time before crashing into Wok's vehicle...

...When asked if he was scared the train wasn’t going to stop in time, Wong responded, “What train?”

"Oh come on officer...crearry I'm not rearry drunk."

Knew it was coming. Figured it would be you. I was about to post my favorite juvenile humor and you beat me to the punch.

Off all places he stopped on the train tracks?

Hopefully the investigation also looked into his mental state to make sure Mr. Wong was not a danger to himself.

I'm equally offended by that sportcoat / shirt combo.

I was honestly waiting to see how long that comment would take.

I laugh at this one every time:

"Oh come on officer...crearry I'm not rearry drunk."

Would've left Oriental Wok to his brother, Park Wong.

The most amazing thing for me is that he drives a Bentley. Didn't know a Wok could pull in that doe

He's got other locations in addition to the Ft. Mitchell one — that restaurant's been around forever. He's a really nice, funny guy and entertainingly flamboyant.

Because he's hammered...

I think there are only two locations: the one off of Buttermilk & one off of Madison Road in Hyde Park.

...there used to be one in Taylor Mill in with Remke's. Is it gone?

Though I admit I found the article interesting, I feel bad for him. I have been to his restaurant many times, including his original restaurant when it was across from Dixie High School many years ago. He always seems like a nice, hard working guy. He always makes the rounds to tables giving customers a rare personal touch. He and his wife have donated to Beechwood for various events.

I, like Guru, wondered if it really was an accident. Turning onto those tracks isn't not an easy mistake to make, I don't care how drunk you are.

He had that location up until a couple of years ago. I guess he sold it. It's still open, but now called Original Wok. From what I can tell, it has the exact same menu, but the food isn't as good. It's a little pricey for Chinese food, especially average chinese food.
