Cubs @ Reds Series 5/24 thru 5/26/13

Why weren't the Reds guarding the lines to take away extra-base hits?

That's what I was wondering. Would have been right at him if he was.

I think we both know why.

Hannahan will never hit a homerun as a Red.

How about a bunt? They aren't even close to the line you could walk to first and Robinson would obviously be on 2nd.

What happened to being positive?

Dusty happened. Plus I'm trying my reverse jinx trick

Hanigan sucks.

That pitch should've been in the upper deck

Agreed. Gregg really got away with a mistake on that one.

Back to back Sundays the Reds blow the game.

The wheels came off in this one. Didn't see it coming.

It happens, get back up, dust yourself off, and get back after it tomorrow. As to guarding the lines. They were in a no doubles defense, that leaves the line up for grabs. If they guard the lines it leaves more room out in the outfield for a ball to get to the wall. The only way they can get you in that situation would be down the lines, and unfortunately had to happen. Oh well still took 2 of 3 this series.

Player Hoover walked the scoreboard said his Away average was .118 and his OBP was .114. (Can your average be higher than OBP?) So for Hoover to walk him is just a bad mistake.

Yes, if you have more sacrifice flies and sacrifice bunts than walks and hit by pitches your BA will be higher than your OBP.
