May 27, 201313 yr Yes, if you have more sacrifice flies and sacrifice bunts than walks and hit by pitches your BA will be higher than your OBP. Sac bunts do not hurt your OBP%. Sac Flies do.
May 27, 201313 yr Sac bunts do not hurt your OBP%. Sac Flies do. You're right. I was taught scorekeeping by an old-timer who did not make a difference between sacrifice bunts and flies. He called them all sacrifice hits and counted them all as plate appearances. It is hard for me to remember to take out the bunts.
