Will the Louisville Cardinals Go Undefeated in 2013?

Featured Replies

Thanks to a win over Florida in the Sugar Bowl, Louisville entered the offseason with momentum for its final season in the Big East/American Athletic Conference.

The Cardinals return a Heisman Trophy candidate in quarterback Teddy Bridgewater and one of the nation’s best receiving corps. The offensive line is a question mark, as center Mario Benavides and left tackle Alex Kupper must be replaced.

The defense returns nine starters and should be one of the best in the American Athletic Conference in 2013.

Possibly. History would suggest they'll drop one or two. Not too many undefeated teams if any per season.

They should......but this team had some bad, strange games last season.

Considering the cupcake schedule they should, although, if the injury bug bites GTs Bearcats will be looking for a statement upset win with the new regime.

Exactly. People remember the Sugar Bowl victory, and rightfully so, but many forget some of the perplexing games of the season which UL had. I agree they should though. Latest mock draft Kiper released had Teddy as the #1 QB in next year's draft. In a season where UL may not play a team in the top 30, they have enough play makers across the board with a NFL QB that should get them to the promised land. It is similar to Brohm's senior season on some level. However they do not have Krags calling the shots, I think TB is better, and the schedule is a lot easier.

Nope, unfortunately they play UK :D

And then you woke up... :lol2:

With the way their schedule is set up they certainly could. When U.K. may be the best team that U.L. will play, they have a legitimate shot.

What U.L. has to avoid is going into some games knowing they have a cakewalk and end up not focused, playing down to a lower level. Kids do that from JFL to H.S. through college. I have seen it happen countless times. I think that C. Strong will do all he can to keep that from happening but one never really knows what players will do and it doesn't take many to throw the team to a loss.

If they go undefeated, will they get into the national championship game?

No. They're schedule is similar to what Boise State has played in the past or worse. Boise has never played in the big show, neither will Louisville unless most of the big dogs have 2 losses.

Only will get a shot at the title if all the teams slip up in front of them. It's not a title caliber schedule, so you gotta slide in.

Well, I'll ask this: if UL goes undefeated this year, and everything else played out exactly like it did last year, would UL get into the title game or would it still be ND and Alabama, like last year?

I think Ohio State's schedule will keep them undefeated and then an SEC team......So my guess is they would have a tough time cracking that.

Undefeated is certainly possible, but it's a darn tough thing to do. That game on the road at UC to end the season certainly doesn't go to making things much easier.

I'm not betting on it.
