June 11, 201313 yr Auburn 2012: 3-9 Chattanooga 2012: 6-5 UT 2012: 5-7 Arkansas 2012: 4-8 UK 2012: 2-10 Georgia State 2012: 1-10 Colorado State 2012: 4-8 I beg to differ, I think UofL would be fine with Bama's upcoming schedule. :lol2: No, they wouldn't (in the sense they would go unblemished) and you know they wouldn't. And do not omit a conference title game. No person is beating a dead horse here. The thread was asking about UL's ability to go undefeated. A huge variable in this equation, or we would all assume, is evaluating one's schedule. Forgive us for factoring in their schedule. UL's schedule is not that difficult, especially when you factor the Big East's recent departures. It is just the reality of it and a huge reason they are being picked by many to run the table.

So are you saying you wouldn't pick UL to win those seven games I mentioned? I've said the schedule is weak, there is no denying that. Again, what do you want UofL to do?

If that was the entirety of their schedule, sure they would be favored to win those 7 games and go undefeated. :lol2: I am not wanting them to do anything. You are getting frustrated for people mentioning their schedule when it is very much relevant to the discussion. You should be thrilled they are playing who they are playing with the team they should have.

June 11, 201313 yr Lets not forget this team "slipped up" vs UCONN and Syracuse. That being said, if Louisville is half the team people act like they'll be then they should have no problem with that 1-AA schedule.
June 11, 201313 yr What about the other 5 games? I said that IMO, there's only one guaranteed loss on that schedule, and that's LSU. I feel like Louisville would be in every other game.

Someone mentioned playing a "power conference" schedule, I simply pointed out that even those schedules aren't as tough as many assume they are.
June 12, 201313 yr Pretty sure I read somewhere that Alabama plays five bowl teams this coming season. UofL plays four. What four teams who played in the Belk or Liberty bowls?
June 12, 201313 yr I like UL but I think people read too much into the bowl win over Florida. Motivation, or lack thereof, is so important in bowls. With all this heady pre-season talk, I can see the Cards losing 1 or 2. It will be up to Coach Strong and Teddy to keep team grounded. If Charlie can accomplish this, then his coaching stock rises significantly in my estimation. Not to take anything away from Lville, they put the beat down on them. BUT, like you said it seemed like UF never made it to New Orleans that week, or perhaps spent to much time on Bourbon Street. Either way, it didn't look as if they were ready to play or up for the game. Probably overlooked them a little bit too, but either way I just don't think they saw the best Florida team out there that night.

I didn't mean it as a backhanded comment or anything like that, Lville did win the game in convincing fashion. As a fan of the SEC I watch a lot of conference games, not just UK. The Florida team I saw against UL was not the same Florida team (especially the defense) I had watched all season long. They were a better team than what their Sugar Bowl beatdown suggested. All I'm trying to say is even though that was a very good win, UL fans are kidding themselves if they think they stomped Florida like that simply because they were 40 points better. They're not, they were on that night, but they are not that much better. To hear UL fans talk they would be competing for SEC titles if they were in the conference, and it all comes from that one game. All I'm trying to say is pump the brakes a little bit, good win yeah, but lets not get too far ahead of ourselves. Gators laid an egg in that one, for whatever reason.

Louisville was the best team on the field that day, end of discussion. You SEC guys can say whatever you want, there's proof in the pudding. All this "they didn't come to play" or "their minds were somewhere else"... Bull butter. Watch the game again... If you can watch the first hit that Jon Bostic put on Teddy Bridgewater and say they weren't in the game, you just aren't being honest.

I don't know what was in their heads that day, all I'm saying is the Florida team that played Lville was not the same Florida team we had watched all season long. I don't think that is 100% to do with UL, for whatever reason Florida did not play up to their potential in that game. Could have been the bright lights, could have been anything. UL did beat Florida, and beat the brakes off of them, I just don't think they beat the best version of that Florida team.

UL did beat Florida, and beat the brakes off of them, I just don't think they beat the best version of that Florida teaey m. Question...they had a whole half to turn things around. All of us UL fans expected a late 1st half come back, or at the least, a strong 2nd half performance. IMO, if you are Florida, the excuse "they overlooked Louisville", or "they didn't come to play" doesn't hold water. The play in the consensus top football conference. They are able to recruit better talent, and..arguably...have the best coaches. There's no shame in losing...unless you don't put forth the effort. I didn't see a "better" Florida team. I saw a Florida team that couldn't handle adversity, couldn't throw out their game plan and come up with another on the fly. I saw a UL team prepared and executing (for once, both on the same day, and for a full 4 quarters). I saw a Coach Strong who knew EXACTLY what to prepare for, and had done it brilliantly. If that wasn't the "best version of that Florida team", shame on them. Every time you step on the field, you should be prepared to present your best version. You can't take away what another team accomplished because they didn't. Playing well is part of the game...EVERY game. They could have at least played us close....they didn't adjust, got frustrated and not only didn't execute well, but killed themselves with chippy penalties. That'll kill you. Stay focused, stay disciplined and they still have a chance. Adjust your game plan as well, and you have a GOOD chance. The game isn't just about being "up" for a team. By all accounts (prior to the game), Louisville should have been spanked like an abused child. And Florida didn't even play them close. Louisville was the better team, with the better game.
