April 18, 201313 yr I've made a very good living as an operator in a plant. This is exactly why the hourly pay is so high... Sobering is a great word to describe this.
April 18, 201313 yr This was seen in Houston... Wow, that plant is approximately 200 miles from Houston.
April 18, 201313 yr Okay....so I've seen some slow motion videos of the explosion and it almost looks like something explodes from the left side of the screen, away from the plant. I don't know how explosions work and if gas ignites on the outside the comes in, but it seems strange. Go to about 2:10 in the video and watch. April 18, 201313 yr I don't mean to be critical at such a horrible even but that Father is an idiot to not put 2+2 together with a fire and a fertilizer plant. He put his daughter in danger so he could take a video on a phone. Poor parenting folks. On the other side, I pray for the people of that community who have to be rocked to the core after this event.

April 18, 201313 yr I thought that I heard that it was the plant manager that took the video. No way. You can see his truck in the mirror reflection. That's not a plant manager's truck.

Not necessarily. There isn't enough info to determine if it was poor parenting. They looked to be out of the evacuation zone and I have a hard time believing that he knew it was going to explode like that. If he was there waiting for the explosion then sure it is definitely poor parenting. For all we know they were coming home from Chuck E Cheese and saw the fire and pulled over to videotape it.
April 18, 201313 yr I thought that I heard that it was the plant manager that took the video. And so he took his daughter?? Does he not know what those chemicals can do?

Again, those chemicals are what destoyed the Murrow Building in Oklahoma. How do you not know this is not a good thing to be even remotely near???
April 18, 201313 yr Again, those chemicals are what destoyed the Murrow Building in Oklahoma. How do you not know this is not a good thing to be even remotely near??? Simple. I had no clue those chemicals destroyed the Murrow Building in Oklahoma. I know next to nothing about what can make a violent explosion, the proximity of the explosion and what causes explosions. If I drive by and there is no one there saying we are evacuating a one mile radius of this plant how in the world am I supposed to know how big the explosion is going to be? Not everyone can be Sheldon Cooper.
April 18, 201313 yr And so he took his daughter?? Does he not know what those chemicals can do? You would think, but again, I stated I thought I heard it was the plant manager.
