Others are better versed to give you an answer here but in short you have to fix what is broken before you add additional programs based on the same faulty financial principles.

Medicare blows and has led us to socialism. Our country is soft and wants big daddy to care of them. He will and another great country will have disappeared off the charts.

 

Face facts America's best days are behind it. Step up and get on board the Chinese and Brazilian express before it's too late.

 

China is hurting more than the US. Manufacturing jobs are moving back to the US. The Chinese rode the backs of their poor as long as they could but their own success is now working against them. That plus the oil/gas boom in the US. I easily choose the US economy over the Chinese.

Medicare has been grossly underfunded for years. It alone drives much of the Federal deficient issue since its financial problems are hidden in general budget. AHCA only made the sinking ship sink faster.

It works here. It's called Medicare.

No it does not work here, plus it is not the only payer in the US.

I know a lady that was forced out of the hospital because Medicare Plan A only pays for a 20 day stay in the hospital, then patient must be moved. She was in intensive care and had to be moved over 60 miles away to another facility (also in a hospital) due to Medicare rules. Now due to same rules she is being forced out of second location at 20 days and can not be readmitted to a hospital for another 20 days.

I am not debating that. My posts are strictly numbers oriented on this subject.

 

The program is and has been underfunded for years and years.

 

The problem is no matter how feel good the program is it is financially non-viable in its current structure. At some point the numbers have to balance.

The cost of care in the US is exorbitant compared to its developed peers, many of which have single-payer systems. And those other countries' citizens rate their satisfaction with their healthcare at or above ours.

So, you require zero negative anecdotal evidence before you'll say a health care system works? Medicare has the highest customer satisfaction of any insurance program in the United States.

 

A lot of that is driven by the fact that it's less expensive, because of the size of the coverage and the ability to leverage that against rising costs. And it is a single-payer system, just one that not everyone qualifies for (yet.)

You mean the key architect who personally blocked single-payer, worked as hard as possible to set up former Republican ideas as the most liberal alternative and was denounced for making the bill drafting a pay-to-play giveaway to insurance company interests?

 

McCain has some seniority in the Senate, too. Does that make him a favorite son?

 

I mean chairman of one of the most powerful committees in DC. I mean one of the architects of the presidents signature legislation. He's powerful and a top Dem. No debate on that no matter how you want to try. Yes, McCain is a top Rep.

Can or will? I don't think they will because no one in Washington has the courage to lead the charge.

Those polls leave out the biggest issue-those of us paying for it but not using it and maybe never will get the chance to use it. Let's see those satisfaction polls.
