If you look at several post of Mountain ref he has hinted at race in a post or two. He has also been called out on them. Trayvon Martin as well as the girl from Chicago was African American. I'm pretty sure that's what he was hinting at.

You're being far too generous here. Complaining that the Obama's privilege blacks over "regular Americans" is a M.O. of mountain ref. People need to quit sugar-coating it for him.

The longer it goes without someone claiming responsibility the more I believe that it's a homegrown whack job.

 

While I am loathe to politicize it, if it is a right leaning home grown nut bar how long will it take for the lefties in the media to whitewash ALL right leaning groups as responsible? Before they do I want to point out that those same leftys were the ones so quick to point out that the head case in Ft. Hood didn't represent the beliefs of all Muslims. They were also the ones that painted ALL tea partiers as racists based on unsubstantiated claims of racist comments at tea party rallies. Will it bring about another call for the severe curtailing of talk radio?

Well then I guess I've chosen to ignore his rhetoric a little more than some have in the past....because I didn't see the race argument at all in the comments from mountain ref that have made their way into this thread. And I don't mean that in any way as a defense of what his argument. I think President Obama's actions following the bombing have been completely appropriate to the situation.

Good question. MSNBC (and Fox) vs. AM radio is somewhat of an apples-oranges comparison. Different media = different messages, Marshall McLuhan, etc. For instance, Limbaugh for years has been the No. 1 star on radio, but he never translated that success to TV. I'm not sure I'd use the phrase "hate-based" with either MSNBC or Fox -- looking at the networks as a whole. Both networks certainly are biased and partisan, and (drum roll please) MSNBC probably more so than Fox. Then again, it gets a bit tricky because with Fox, the bias often is in the stories that they do NOT cover.

It's been years since I've heard left-wing talk radio here in Greater Cincinnati. One's choices in the afternoon are basically Bill Cunningham or Rush Limbaugh.
