April 11, 201313 yr Wow. Reds play the toughest 9 game stretch in the league to open the season, dont lose two in a row til the last two, and everyone is jumping off a bridge.
April 11, 201313 yr Nobody that understands baseball even a little is worried at this point. Had they went 3-6 I would still not personally be worried.
April 11, 201313 yr Wow. Reds play the toughest 9 game stretch in the league to open the season, dont lose two in a row til the last two, and everyone is jumping off a bridge. Im not jumping, I just asked the question of what should be done with a player that apparently no one thinks they will resign after the season.
April 11, 201313 yr Hanigan -- career .270 Heisey -- career .255 Cozart -- career .245 It's nine games in. They'll all get closer to those numbers as this season wears on.

April 11, 201313 yr As for Choo, I know his Reds sample size is miniscule, but his Indian one is not, and I would love to see Choo in the OF for a few seasons because he is a professional hitter. Votto has boyfriend trouble or something right now, and when that passes he's a .350 guy. The last thing I'd worry about is Votto. Hanigan is never gonna hit, if he does, it's a bonus. Cozart needs to play the glove and mix one in every now and again. This team will win the division, I have no doubt Mr. Dracman Hanigan doesn't hit for power but to say that he's "never gonna hit" is way off base. For his career, Hanigan's batting average is .270 with a career OBP of .365. 2010: .300 Average, .405 OBP (Only 70 games) 2011: .267 Average, .356 OBP (91 games) 2012: .274 Average, .365 OBP (112 games) He's never struck out more than 37 times in a season. Hanigan can hit...he doesn't have much pop and he's never going to be a middle of the lineup guy, but he can hit.

April 11, 201313 yr Wow. One person panics, and all of a sudden it's everyone? I know I love it haha. Plantman is just trolling and only one other person is worried.
April 11, 201313 yr The Reds will score enough runs to make the playoffs. I think they are better offensively than last year, of course, losing Ludwick hurts. However, top to bottom, they are better with a healthy Votto and stronger bench, IMO.
April 11, 201313 yr Author Well since someone mentioned pitching.......... Bronson: I think he is about at the end of his bag of tricks. Reminds me of the old pitcher in Major League that can't break 88 on the gun but can fool hitters until the third time thru the line-up. If Reds were smart they would yank him after 5 or 6 innings. Otherwise .500 pitcher at best. Bailey: Who knows? He is kind of the Jay Bruce of pitching. Might get 3 great starts out of him followed by 5 bad ones. Leake: Well maybe he can bat 7th in the lineup with under .200 Hannigan 8th and under .200 Cozart 9th? Other than that .500 would be a great season from him. Latos: Not bad and will battle but not quite a star yet. Cueto: Hope he can stay injury free and his arm does not fall off from too many innings. Not the best staff but not the worst ......but unless the hitting comes thru they better win a bunch of 2-1 games and that ain't going to happen.
April 12, 201313 yr In a Bengals thread I will reply to this non sense probably with a long post . However there are plenty of people on here who are smart enough to realize its only been 9 games! Way to early to be worrying about anything at this point, the Reds will be fine.
April 12, 201313 yr Hanigan last year was one of the better Reds hitter to make contact, for some reason this year he is not seeing the ball very well. He will come around. Cozart will be fine, I think he will finish around 250 for the year and for a 7 hitter that ain't too bad. Then b/w Heisey and Paul they will get enough production to hold the fort down till Ludwick gets back. My advice to you Frank is chill out, and eat a snickers
April 12, 201313 yr Wow. One person panics, and all of a sudden it's everyone? I guess I shouldn't have generalized everyone. Just not used to the troll concept yet I guess lol. Was surprised this thread was even started.
April 12, 201313 yr I guess I shouldn't have generalized everyone. Just not used to the troll concept yet I guess lol. Was surprised this thread was even started. I guess I don't understand the troll concept or what it's supposed to mean. It's a message board. The main purpose it to respond to post made by others. If that is condsidered "trolling", then by golly I troll. :lol2::lol2:
