April 11, 201313 yr Author They're wrong. 20-25 degrees warmer? Average for yesterday is 70. I stand corrected. As the average highs for this time of year are anywhere from 60-70 degrees, with it reaching 80, we were 10-20 degrees higher than normal.

April 11, 201313 yr What constitutes global warming? We are talking about a planet that is billions of years old. Is 10, 20, or even 30 years of a trend long enough to claim anything as fact. Let's not forget in the 70's there were cries another ice age was coming.

Stating this now for the 3rd time... when I started this thread I was not claiming one way or another if Global Warming is real. I only said that I lean towards paying attention to the claim rather than discounting it. My new and next question which might better be posed in a totally different thread. What percentage of Americans can't read?
April 11, 201313 yr This all gets so confusing after a while. I have seen articles that stated the temperatures have been dropping for several years after rising for decades. One article wondered if we were approaching another ice age but it was being muted by the man made gases in the atmosphere. Talk about a conundrum! Apparently the oceans undergo a 30 year cycle where the colder water rises, warms then falls, each change affecting the earth's climate. My thought is that we should make our best efforts to minimize our impact on the environment but without making it so expensive as to crash our economy. How do we do that? Elect me world czar and I'll reveal my super secret plan.

April 11, 201313 yr Global warming is fact and I do believe it is happening. I don't believe man has had as a big a hand in as some people say. I also think based on what I've seen, it's happening slower than people want us to believe. IMO politicians are trying to make a lake out of a puddle with this issue to push their own agenda.
April 11, 201313 yr B Ball fan, to answer your first post, my guess is that the vast majority of the 37% are republicans or moderates. I doubt many, if any liberals believe it to be a hoax. As for me, I am a repub and as I stated in an earlier post, I believe the climate is changing but not trusting the people who cram it down our throat, I am not sure if we have as much to do with it is as we are led to believe. De forestation by man definitely does not help though and that will be a bigger issue in the future as many "undeveloped" countries look to grow. I believe in 20 - 30 years you may only see lions, cheehtas, etc... in a zoo. Why a trip to Africa and the plains is on my bucket list.
