BigZig, even you would have to admit though that Penick doesn't get the most attention in the region. Right?

 O.K. then who does?

i'd say Jeremy White of bellevue gets alot... even though there not having the best season he's amazing to watch just coming off a 36point night tuesday against villa.. :thumb:

Nice player and glad to see him having a good year but not near on the level of say Dan Penick or several others for that matter. (Romes, Hill, Rice,Jefferson, Henderson, Vories)

The only reason, ONLY, is becasue of you Owsley fans just praising every dribble the kid puts down. All we heard all year was "Boy watch out when Smith comes back" and meanwhile, you have 2 VERY talented kids workin their butts off for this "team" (Neeley and Congleton) and in 6 or 7 games, Robert Smith has gotten more "fluffing" from the fans in Booneville than Neeley got in every game before that. I don't dislike Robert Smith. I really like him and wish him well but I think it is unfair that the first day back of eligibility with NO practice with plays that he comes in and takes a starting spot from a kid that has been to the games and practice and EARNED IT!!! And we hear so much from him scoring 21 against Lee County...how many did Neeley have in the early games of the year when they played more like a team. They may have lost by more (38) the first time we played them, but when we went to Booneville I think they looked worse with Smith.(-24) So, there is something for you people in Booneville to attack me on. I'm ready to respond. :fire:

I thought for a min. we was gonna have to change this thread to Who Hates Robert Smith? :D

See what I mean. The fuss dies down and you Owsley people just keep stirring the pot. LET IT GO! And, by the way, I posted that almost 3 days ago...it took you a while to come up with a response. Who helped you? :flame:

Randon Cavette from Graves Co. in the 1st region all the way! If he gave 100% every time out he would dominate, but he'll have 25pts, 15 rbs, 5 blks a few times then sit our for missing practice or something. The fans in the first region love to hate him, but he's got game!

I think Dan Penick of Ludlow has been saving his best for last. Last night against Beechwood the Tigers had as many as 3 people trying to stop him without any luck. He dominated both ends of the floor and in the past month has elevated his game.

Say what you will critics but he's 6'9" and around 245 lbs. Prefers to play facing the basket (why, because he can) but as we have seen a great deal more of recently he can also post up and take the ball to the hole with authority. Good ball handling skills and an improving outside shot and sees the floor as well as anyone playing this year. Unbelievable passer and very unselfish or his points per game average would be much higher. Mid-level Div. 1 schools are drooling over him. Of all the players playing in the 9th region this year Dan has the most potential and upside and will sign at a higher level then any other 9th region senior. He has matured a great deal and his leadership has helped the Panthers to begin to get their year back on the right track at hopefully the right time of the year.

He has a slight advantage over every other player in the 9th region....... He is 6'9.......not discounting he is a good player but if you are 6'9 and you want to maximize your size..... improve your basketball game and the sky is the limit... it sounds like he has done a good job of improving (playing on traveling teams, etc) I hope he does well, always pulling for the small schools.

If you were the coach and you had a player like Robert Smith who played on your team, I am so sure that you would sit him on the bench and let some other kid who is lucky to score 10 points play. NO......you and everone else who watched Robert Smith play would play him over whoever...you know why???because he is GOOD.. I am learning to like Robert even more because he is so "watched" by everyone. I am glad he is the kind of kid he is..He does NOT have a bad attitude, and he loves sports. He plays hard and would be a huge asset to any team he played for. :madman:

How can you leave out Todd Jacobs from Cov Cath. He is averaging just over 18 points per game and has great court vision and one of the top passers in the region. Can't over look Todd

Just curious, If Robert is such a better baseball player than a basketball player, why did he transfer to a basketball school. IMO he is a very good basketball player, but not in the elite class that some paint him in. IMO

In the 5th, Stephon Pettigrew of Elizabethtown probably gets the most attention, followed by William Bradley at Caverna and Brian Calhoun at Bardstown. Of games I have attended (a lot in the 17th and 19th, very few in the 18th and none in the 20th), there is very little NEGATIVE attention that is out of the ordinary, except with E-Town who is the big dawg and knows it. Pettigrew and Atcher catch hell, particularly in the smaller venues like Bethlehem.
