What player draws the most attention from your region?

Featured Replies

Not taking away from Neeley or Congelton they both play as hard and seem to love the game as much or more than anyone they've played or play with but Smith has led them to the Semi's of Regional All A and already won 3 times more games. Neeley is no doubt a top all around pg/2guard in the region and Congelton dont get the respect or ink he has earned all season. But without Smith playing teamball, the way he has recently been , Owsley wouldnt have beaten June B. or have the potential to upset someone come distric time. Smith isnt a negative to Neeley or Congelton but he is positive to the entire team.

From the 13th region...... I'd say Stuart Miller from M'boro or Walt Allen from SL.

I'm not going to go with one of the best players or most fun to watch players. But since this thread says the PLAYER WHO DRAWS MOST ATTENTION. I'm going to go with a guy who isn't even one of my favorites.

BEN GUIDUGLI

Hands down he is the most hated, but he is also pretty effective at what he does. Hearing his name in NKY or just hearing about him or his family is about the same as hearing about how Duke did while your in Lexington, or almost anywhere in the state of KY.

I would agree although I am a HHS fan. He is a cowboy on the floor.... showboats and gets into the head of the opposing fans. He is a manchild out there and throws his muscle around... he is physically as mature as a Sophomore in college.....throw in some attitude and you have a player fans love to hate.

Duran Jefferson I would thing gets talked about most in the ninth... there are more good players but I would think he would get the most pub around the state... but I really am not sure, because I am not around the state...

The only reason, ONLY, is becasue of you Owsley fans just praising every dribble the kid puts down. All we heard all year was "Boy watch out when Smith comes back" and meanwhile, you have 2 VERY talented kids workin their butts off for this "team" (Neeley and Congleton) and in 6 or 7 games, Robert Smith has gotten more "fluffing" from the fans in Booneville than Neeley got in every game before that. I don't dislike Robert Smith. I really like him and wish him well but I think it is unfair that the first day back of eligibility with NO practice with plays that he comes in and takes a starting spot from a kid that has been to the games and practice and EARNED IT!!! And we hear so much from him scoring 21 against Lee County...how many did Neeley have in the early games of the year when they played more like a team. They may have lost by more (38) the first time we played them, but when we went to Booneville I think they looked worse with Smith.(-24) So, there is something for you people in Booneville to attack me on. I'm ready to respond. :fire:

Im not from Owsley County but i keep up with everybody in the region. I have seen several games that Neeley played in earlier that season and he took a shot every trip down the floor. Smith and Neeley could be the best back court in this region and they have showed that in 3 or 4 games since Smith has been back. I have seen the last couple of games the Owls have played and it looked to me that the Congleton boy as had a hard time getting his shot to fall. When these three start hitting there shots consistant and look for each other, this Owsley team will be really dangerous. Go HAZARD BULLDOGS!!!!

That's the consensus choice but Nate Edmonson is also up there for drawing a lot of the other crowd's jeers. At CCH as I'm sure you know those are the top 2.

I agree ronnie!! smith is a good player but the situation is unfortunate for the rest of the team. I had not thought of him taking a starting spot but thats a good point!! No practice & not allowed to go to games & takes a starting spot in January on the 1st game back.

I took this thread differently. i thought it was referring to attention on the court. In the 14th i'd say:

1. cody gilbert is double & triple teamed night in & night out.

2. Tyler Rich is a major factor for teams & it opens up shooter for lee.

3. most other teams try to guard straight up against most of the 14th & help but there are other weapons that will hurt you so hard to put a lot of attention on one person.

And like I said in my post, I think he is a good guy off the court. I've seen him play baseball and he is a very good pitcher. I just think that the Owls fans have created this monster that they complain about so much by dedicating their team to Smith. Not all fans, but a lot of them on this forum.

I tell you who gets NO ATTENTION!!!! ESTILL COUNTY!! SHOW US SOME LOVE 14th FANS! :D

You just wait Ronnie Estill Co. will get some attention. They are new to the 14th. Wait till they get them a big rivalry in the 14th!!!:D

I would say hester from SK in the 8th, that is because he gets mad easy and will start to loose his head and come out of the game.

From the 13th region...... I'd say Stuart Miller from M'boro or Walt Allen from SL.

Dylan "Mr. Excitement" Sizemore from the Clay County Tigers. His warm-up antics are worth the price of admission. He has a lot of enthusiasm and loves to get the crowd pumped up. I guess Coach Grey allows him to show his true love of the game as he was much more in control of his emotions when Coach Jones was the Head Tiger. If you get the chance check him and the Tigers out soon.
