April 6, 201313 yr Anyone seen this movie? Trying to figure out if I should watch it or not. Stephen King usually makes pretty good movies...Misery, Shawshank Redemption, Green Mile, Christine, Rose Red among others.
April 6, 201313 yr Author Stephen King wrote the novel for this in the famous Stanley Hotel, room 235, which turned into this movie!
April 6, 201313 yr Here's Johnny! Saw this movie with my bride to be a long time ago at the Marianne Theatre in Bellevue. She about crapped herself.
April 6, 201313 yr It is a classic All State. The book is one of King's best early works and the movie is really good too.
April 6, 201313 yr How about this for an endorsement: it's one of the finest movies ever made. To my mind, it's one of the few examples where a movie outclasses the book on which it's based. That's mostly a testament to Stanley Kubrick's singular genius. I can't recommend this enough.

Jack Nicholson was fantastic. Please no one ever watch the remake.
April 6, 201313 yr They have a remake of this!?! That's absurd. Agree with what the others have said, ASB. Great, great film.
April 6, 201313 yr Author I love Stephen King's work, he's one of the best in the business. He's made some classics. Rose Red (seen the beginning of it before falling asleep), Maximum Overdrive, Christine, Pet Semetary series, Dream Catcher and 3 of the best movies he's made, Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile and probably my favorite, Misery Looks like I got some watching to do. Thanks Guys!!! While we're at it, is their anymore Stephen King movies that I should see?

Thanks Guys!!! While we're at it, is their anymore Stephen King movies that I should see? One of the best film adaptations of a King work is "Stand By Me". It is not nearly as good as the book, but still a good film. It breaks from the horror movie mold. Another must see King classic is the original "Carrie" with Sissy Spacek. Scared the crap out of me when I was young and impressionable. "The Stand" is a superior read and was made into a pretty good mini series for TV. Read the print version. I always liked "Cujo" also.
April 6, 201313 yr Stand By Me is one of my top favorites along with Misery. I've watched Stand By Me loads of times, but didn't read the novella until last year. Never seen the movie Apt Pupil, but the story was awesome too. Apt Pupil and Stand By Me (the story is called The Body) are a collection of novellas published as Different Seasons, which also has The Shawshank Redemption and The Breathing Method. The Breathing Method is supposed to be made into a movie I think.
