April 5, 201313 yr I recommend watching this series of videos by an American who managed to get some great footage from inside NK (if you're into that type of thing); this is part 1: Couple of quick observations: Blue rubber boots are all the rage in North Korea Kept expecting to see a Norfolk Southern Coal Car Biggest thing...these people are just wanting to live their lives also. I see then going about day to day task and I feel bad that their leader is putting their lives in danger by playing the little games he is playing and for the most part they have no idea. With little to no outside access to news or any media the North Koreans are the most remote and unconnected of any civilized population.
April 5, 201313 yr I think they (US military) need to take pre-emptive measures to neutralize any potential threats. Take them out before they have the opportunity to strike. Pre-emption in this case is disconcerting to me. Given that for the first time ever we'd be directly taking on a country with nuclear weapons, I'm not certain how effective our recent strategies for warfare would be. The pre-emption would have to be not only swift but 100 percent effective. Any nuclear capabilities we didn't eliminate would subsequently HAVE to be used by North Korea. They'd have nothing to lose once we initiate hostilities. Any war we start with conventional weapons won't end with conventional weapons. All this is premised on the thought that I don't think North Korea will initiate anything. I still believe that this is posturing and that Kim ultimately knows that if he begins a war with South Korea, he will lose not only the war, but he and his top men will definitely lose their lives.
