Brandon Hatton Update

Featured Replies

Why the Dixie bashing??? They have some good young sophomores. That class includes length, strength, and athleticism. Not to mention (after this past season), experience at the varsity level. They'll all be a little bigger, and little stronger, and hopefully a little more well schooled (depending on their summer activities). Dixie has a chance to be pretty good.

They might be better next year, but the teams to beat imo is Holmes, NewCath, and CovCath. After those three there is a considerable drop off in the teams 4-10.

at best Dixie is the 4th best team in NKY. in watching his development he will be suited for a mid major. I really don't think Xavier is interested. Yes he is stronger and potentially a better player than Redford, but I think Mack is done with that experiment. I believe he would be a great fit for Winthrop or other low level D-1. I really would like to see him at WKU, EKU, or Murray St., heck maybe even NKU. As long as he doesn't end up at Duke, UNC, or Ohio State I will root for B. Hatton to get his. Yeah, and if he does transfer I hope its not in the 10th region because he kills us!

Didn't Doc just write an article in the Enquirer about UC being in desperate need of shooters? Brandon fits that role. Heck, bring in McCormick as well. UC could use some guys that are money from deep.

McCormick was only 30% from 3 this past year so not exactly money from deep. His athleticism is unreal though.

Why would Chev lie? What's in it for him to lie?

He's most certainly not going to say that he expects Hatton to leave.

Only saw him a couple of times this year but I think he was focusing on trying to rip off every rim in SW Ohio this past season. Kid has a mean streak when he attacks the rim. His outside shot is solid, not as good as BHatt.

A few things:

1. Dixie will be better than some of you guys are giving them credit for. Sophomore class is very solid and with Drew Moore returning, they add a 6'4 kid that is explosive and can play anywhere on the floor.

2. Huntington Prep was the team that contacted Brandon. Their shooting guard went down and they called him wanting him to come to Huntington in December. He would've had to quit, sit out a week and a half and then be able to play, so he said no. At Huntington Prep, a host family takes care of you and any needs you have. First class experience.

3. Agree if Hatton goes anywhere, it'd be prep school. Something a lot of you are overlooking, however, is that it isn't that easy for Brandon. If he could just leave for basketball and still come back to go to prom and graduate with the kids he's been with since 7th grade, the chances of seeing him somewhere would probably be more likely but he really likes Dixie.

4. When I was at the Travelers practice, I had a conversation with Scott Hatton...I'd be surprised if BHatt ends up anywhere else next year.

5. As far as colleges go, there has been a different thing every year that people have tried to pick out about Brandon's game. Trust me when I say, he hears the criticism and that fuels him. He will be doing a lot of training this summer both on and off the court and I'd be willing to bet he lands somewhere not mentioned in this thread. I know Kansas State has expressed interest in him and called his AAU coach about him. Brandon is more athletic than you guys are giving him credit for. Dude was throwing down some nasty dunks in practice last Sunday with ease. Even threw one down with two hands off a drop step. Don't be fooled by the way he is built in his lower body. Kid is athletic.

I said Dixie might be better next year, but they will not be contenders for the 9th region title and you know that is true.

Well said Walter I hope Pitino recruits him. Hatton is the best in the state!

If Hatton scores 40 a game they will be. :D

We will see. I guess I'm just a bigger fan of that sophomore class and Hatton than most.

I can't believe with all the talent in NKY, Hatton is the only kid to make the SR/JR all star team.

There's a lot of talent in the jr and sr class but Hatton is the only one who has consistently gone against elite talent throughout the summer since he was a younger kid. Playing for the Magic last summer really helped his stock rise.

I'd say in next years' jr and sr rosters you could see a couple more kids.

I'd almost guarantee McDonald and Bolden as members of the jr team next year.

I think the lack of members speaks more to how loaded the class is, vs there not being good talent here.

My guess is you see a couple nky kids play in the KY-Ohio All Star game.

He would also have the option of prep school after his senior year. They offer both undergrad and post grad at most prep schools.

How old is he? I've heard he was held back once or twice, is that true?
