Who was impressive, who dissapointed after the 1st full NCAA weekend

Featured Replies

I am not talking about how any of our brackets or picks look after the first full weekend of the NCAA tournament. I am asking what teams really impressed you and which ones were a disappointment in the way they played in the 2nd round/ 1st full round of the tournament, what are some of your thoughts so far ?

I was really impressed with Louisville. Yes, they were a1 seed but they came out, took control from the start and looked like a championship team.

I was also impressed with Tubby's Minnesota team, I thought that they looked very strong. Miami also looked good in taking care of business. All the A10 Conference teams won and imo played very well in doing so, St. Louis is legit and are a threat. Syracuse looked very good as well.

A 3 seed New Mexico and 2 seed Georgetown both lost, looking bad in doing so. I was actually looking for N. Mexico to be in the final four.

These are just a few that I thought of right away, which teams impressed/disappointed you?

I'll let you know on Monday...after the first full weekend. Some teams that look like heros in round one turn into zeros in round two...

^agree with AJG, at last glance Saturday and Sunday make up a weekend. However, if your reporting from some part of Earth where the weekend includes Thursday and Friday. A Monday thru Wednesday work week may have great upside!

Ohio State was impressive. The West Region is disappointing. The Buckeyes will WALK to the Final Four.

I thought Michigan looked very good Thursday

Big East has just been atrocious.

The Big East died last Saturday night. Someone else problems now... :thumb:

I was more impressed with Louisville than anyone I saw, but their competition was a little lacking, as it should be for a # 1 seed. Their game today with Colorado State will tell us more, but I see the Cards winning by 10 or more. I think they'll win the championship when all is said and done. They're playing great defense and that's highly important as the games will get more competitive each round.

Miami looked very good as well, as did Indiana and Ohio State, but their opponents didn't offer up much resistance.

How surprised should we be about the Big East loses?

Pitt, ND and Georgetown underperformed? Of course they did. They do EVERY YEAR. I have to say, though, those three really wet the bed even more thoroughly than usual.

Villanova and Cincy lost competitive games that they were not expected to win. There's no shame in their performance.

And Louisville & Syracuse looked like the two most dominant teams in the field.

I think FGCU has a good shot at advancing another round. They don't look like your typical 15 seeded team.

Lou played a 16 seed and Cuse played Montana. Let's wait until we put that feather in the cap.

Louisville let them off easy and still broke a tournament record. And Syracuse, front runners that they are, looked good regardless of opponent seed, and certainly better than some other proteced seeds.

Relative to their competition VCU looked the most impressive and dominate.

So, keeping score at home, #5 VCU's victory over #12 Akron was impressive and dominating, but #4 Syracuse over #13 Montana...

Didn't know I spoke for everyone else. :lol2:

If it makes you feel better I will rate Syracuse and Louisville's victory as the most dominating in the first round.
