Even though, I do not know Coach Neiderman personally, I have seen Boone play. He seems like a high motor kind of guy and very intense/passionate about the job his defense does every Friday. In the game I saw this year, his players seemed well prepared and extremely well coached.

 

I don't care if he had connections to Coach Thompson, Coach Neiderman got the shaft in this deal and I personally would not blame him if he left BC altogether!

 

I understand how Coach Neiderman could feel slighted. Boone's issues were not on the defensive side of the ball. With all due respect to the predecessor HC though, there is a lot of relationship building to do with parents of kids in the program and of middle school aged kids who will be attending Boone in the future. Hiring of an internal candidate could have been interpreted as a status quo hire. This program needed to be shaken up and an outside hire (especially one from outside the region) with a fresh, unbiased perspective is IMO needed.

I would bet that his son is wanting to stay with other family members or friends and finish out his Sr year with his friends and also play for a team with a good shot at another state title.

Wow great hire for Boone. Did not believe it when I first heard that he might be their new coach. Always thought he would be the next HC at BG when Wallace retired.

 

Wallace runs BG's offense Grifth has ran their 3-4 50 defense over the years. I will say this, he makes the best halftime adjustments than any coach I've went up against. He's kind of old school coach who Players don't mind getting fussed at.

You won't outflank him specially to the wide-side. Again best hire I've seen in several years think Boone hit a home-run!

 

Ask Trinity, John Hardin, Christian Co., Warren Central and St. X what it's like to try and score on BG...then ask BG people why BG's defense has been so good for the last 12 years...then you'll find out that you didn't just get just another assistant from somewhere else.

Co-sign on this post. Coach Griff is one of the best and has been a huge part of the transformation at BG into an almost unstoppable team. Yes, they won a title without him. But they've won two with him and played for 4 others. That's 6 title game appearances in his two tenures there, including 5 since his return - all coming since 2005.

Good hire. The former Boone asst may be a good guy, but they needed new blood. Otherwise, they would have continued with mediocrity that has reached it's 20th straight year. Hopefully the new coach finds the intestinal fortitude to start acting like a 6A school and play Highlands and CovCath.

That sounds like a good idea-really!

Glad to see BC stepped outside the box on this hire and it will take something like this to get the "Jimmies and Joes" to get out on the field and this might be the answer. Maybe the fastest kid in the school will have a change of heart and decide to play football again instead of just running track. 6'1" and about 200lbs, running like a deer and get this, receiving letters for FOOTBALL from the likes of Missouri and Purdue while not playing one single down of football should tell everyone something major needed to change and this just may do it.

 

I wish BC well, except when they play Cooper of course....lol

 

Who are you talking about at Boone? Do you mean Tony Leroy? I hear he may be six foot tall but is no where near 200lbs and hasn't played a down of football in his life. Either way, I agree, get him out for football. And while Coach Griffith is at it, get Junior Stockwell out for football. Junior is probably 6'3" 230 and very athletic. And I talked to Junior today and recruited him. He didn't tell me no.
