This is a great hire by Boone County. Coach Griffith's schematic knowledge is as good as anybody out there and kids love to play for him. He will have no problem getting kids who aren't playing to turn out. Bringing a 6-3 Outside Linebacker that started on a state Championship defense with him isn't bad either.

I can't answer that. I would say that he will evaluate his players and go from there. I do know that you will see a very aggressive 3-4 defense.

Aggressive is good.

 

Boone is loaded with talent but they need to develop some QBs.

BG O passed for about 2600 and rushed for about 2000+. 15 games.

They used several different formations last year including in the State Championship game where they also ran a form of the wildcat.

 

All I know is they were very potent and could move the ball very well. They'd have 3 WR sets, 2 Wr sets with 2 in the backfield and empty backfield as well as switching players behind center. It was a great offense.

 

They were very balanced and with the play makers they had were tough to scheme against.

 

I will say this, if Casey Boston is healthy and they use him right on offense, he will have a huge year if they run anything close to what BG did.

I can tell all of you this. Boone Co. got one hell of a football coach. He has had chances to go be a head coach at other schools but turned them down waiting on the right one.

He could be Knute Rockne reincarnated, if the good Jimmies and Joes walking the halls don't come out for football, it won't matter.

 

Glad to see BC stepped outside the box on this hire and it will take something like this to get the "Jimmies and Joes" to get out on the field and this might be the answer. Maybe the fastest kid in the school will have a change of heart and decide to play football again instead of just running track. 6'1" and about 200lbs, running like a deer and get this, receiving letters for FOOTBALL from the likes of Missouri and Purdue while not playing one single down of football should tell everyone something major needed to change and this just may do it.

Who is the kid you referenced?

They don't even need to go that far to ask how hard it is to score on BG, just ask Cooper. It was very tough!

 

With that said, Boone last season had a pretty decent defense already, they did allow some points but they have a pretty nice foundation to build on. This should make it very interesting on how much more they will improve. The offense is what really needed an overhaul so should be interesting also to see what kind of OC they bring in. If he brings BG's OC with them the 6A schools in this area could be in trouble down the road.

 

I could be wrong here, but Bowling Green's actual OC is their head man, Kevin Wallace.

 

If I'm wrong in this thought, I sincerely apologize, but that side of the ball runs through Wallace.

Even though, I do not know Coach Neiderman personally, I have seen Boone play. He seems like a high motor kind of guy and very intense/passionate about the job his defense does every Friday. In the game I saw this year, his players seemed well prepared and extremely well coached.

 

I don't care if he had connections to Coach Thompson, Coach Neiderman got the shaft in this deal and I personally would not blame him if he left BC altogether!
