Bengals Free Agent Moves

Featured Replies

I never really considered Jackson as an option for the Gals.

I did when he could have been drafted. Oh yeah they passed on him.

I would like to see the Bengals go after CB Sean Smith, DT Alan Branch and LB Dansby.

I'd much rather the Bengals be doing what they've done so far this free agency than give some of these guys the extremely overpriced contracts. The only signings that have been solid are Bush (and they tried and he wasn't interested) and Welker (doesn't fit in Cincy). Not sure why everyone's complaining so much, but it sure has made this forum unbearable to read.

We're dont have the Packers front office, we have holes on the team to fill and 30 million to do it with. That's if we wanna win a playoff game in some of our members lifetimes.

^So you'd rather they just make moves for the sake of making moves?

The Free agent class is really poor. There's a few impactful guys and that's it. They're wise to not overspend like a lot of these teams have (Dolphins immediately come to mind).

Ted Ginn has visited the Bengals. He would be a good pickup for Cincy.

We don't need a bench warmer.

Umm, they need someone to stretch the defense. Not many guys are as quick as Ginn. He'd be a very good vertical threat to put opposite guys like Green & Sanu. Plus they'll be able to get him without having to grossly overpay like Miami did for Wallace.

They will also be getting a glorified kick returner. His 25 catches a year won't do as much as you would think. You want someone to stretch the field you get Wallace, gotta pay to play.

The deal Wallace got was one of the biggest overpays I've seen. I'd much rather they get a guy that can accomplish the same things (on a smaller scale) for a reasonable price. They need to focus on resigning Smith and then start locking up Dunlap, Geno, AJ, and Michael Johnson.

Ginn can't accomplish many of the same things Wallace can. Take a look at his numbers. He had 1 receiving yard last year. He has had less than 500 yards every year except for one and less than 300 each of the last 3 years. He is not a threat in any way, unless you need a kick returner.

More cap space will come in the next few years. Other contracts will expire, players will age. Mikey is sitting on a mountain of money.
