Montgomery County to the 16th Region?

Featured Replies

So I was listening to the KHSAA Sweet 16 on the radio tonight since the weather was bad and I didn't get to go but anyways the radio announcers were talking about Montgomery County and possibly Lawrence County joining the 16th region.

Anyone confirm/deny?

Would make sense.

Remember i said weeks ago ncc is going to the 10th region and no one believes me. Look for a major reshuffling.

I herd the same thing, 105.7. They said (they) dont know who they are, were meeting i think they said tomorrow to discuss the possible re-districting of the 16th region?

It wouldn't surprise me, although I'm expecting it for the 2014-15 season, not next year.

This has been tossed around for several years. MoCo to the 16th, GRC to the 11th, Scott Co to the 9th, and one other that I can't remember. One of the NYK school shuffling.

Scott Co to the 9th? Might you mean Scott High School back to the 9th? That would make far more sense.

Has to be Scott. Scott co. Makes no sense geographically to the 9th.

Much speculation for awhile on this topic. A move by Clark/Montgomery to the 16th, and a return to the 10th by Fleming County (who just won the 16th region), or even Lewis, and perhaps a move back to the 9th by Calvary and Scott, all make sense. Or have Simon Kenton come to the 10th and have Scott/Calvary remain, who knows?

Bringing all of Campbell County (the 36th District) into the 10th is certainly a possibility and would better align the region into a more compact group (if that is possible), BUT would destroy all of the traditions held dear by the 10th Region loyalists, who barely tolerate the 37th District which they probably consider a massive cancer growing on them, as is. A move to the 10th would be absolute culture shock to the other Campbell County schools such as Newport, NCC, etc,. where everything they do in life is from Fort Thomas/Cold Springs north. Would like to be along on thier first bus ride to Carlisle, or Mount Olivet.

Will be interesting!

What I am hearing is that Lawrence Co will be moved back to the 16th next year. Rose Hill will not be having a team and LC will move to that district. As far as other teams redistricting that is still a few years away.

If anything happens in the 37th district it will be moving NCC to the 10th and having Scott and Calvary in the 9th. Would guess they would join HC, Holmes, and CCH in there district. (Only if anything happens).

:lol2:

This gets a bit of face time every year. Clark County to the 11th, Montgomery County to the 11th or the 16th, more massive cancer (good one, 'stang) NKY teams to the 10th, Scott County back to the 8th, etc.

Seems to me that the only thing that will start the dominoes falling is a major population shift resulting in a new school or two being constructed in one of those regions, but who knows.

What I've long advocated for - strictly for personal reasons - is Fleming County's return to the 10th. Great rivalry, and not just in basketball.

As stated above the "major" changes will not be for a few more years. But.....because of Rose Hill not having a team next year, that spot creates an immediate opening. Again heard it was Lawrence Co coming back to the 16th in the year 2013/1014. Only change to my knowledge for the 16th at this time. In a few years when they do the major changes you may get your wish on Fleming Co. Will have to wait and see.
