Montgomery County to the 16th Region?

Featured Replies

Much speculation for awhile on this topic. A move by Clark/Montgomery to the 16th, and a return to the 10th by Fleming County (who just won the 16th region), or even Lewis, and perhaps a move back to the 9th by Calvary and Scott, all make sense. Or have Simon Kenton come to the 10th and have Scott/Calvary remain, who knows?

Bringing all of Campbell County (the 36th District) into the 10th is certainly a possibility and would better align the region into a more compact group (if that is possible), BUT would destroy all of the traditions held dear by the 10th Region loyalists, who barely tolerate the 37th District which they probably consider a massive cancer growing on them, as is. A move to the 10th would be absolute culture shock to the other Campbell County schools such as Newport, NCC, etc,. where everything they do in life is from Fort Thomas/Cold Springs north. Would like to be along on thier first bus ride to Carlisle, or Mount Olivet.

Will be interesting!

The "etc." above means "Ft. Thomas Highlands". If they got moved to the 10th, all holy hell would break loose. They consider Alexandria to be the boondocks!! Secession from the state would probably ensue! LOL

I do think the Birds would be some of the strongest opposed to a regional change....

For the people saying that NCC will move to the 10th... NCC moving to the 10th by themselves makes absolutely no sense. They are right in the middle of a lot of 9th schools. Moving only them would be odd to say the least... I think if you see any moves from that area it would be the whole 36th district to the 10th region.

And Bellevue, and Dayton.

But.....because of Rose Hill not having a team next year, that spot creates an immediate opening. Again heard it was Lawrence Co coming back to the 16th in the year 2013/1014.

Is Rose Hill closing or just not fielding a team?

The whole 36th is going to the 10th.

What I am hearing is that Lawrence Co will be moved back to the 16th next year. Rose Hill will not be having a team and LC will move to that district. As far as other teams redistricting that is still a few years away.

My nephew is the head coach at Rose Hill. I wonder if they've told him he won't be having a team next year? Can't say I've heard that one.

Do we get reimbursed for gas?

I believe what was being implied was that Highlands would be the most opposed to moving districts, as they likely have the most pull of the NKY public schools. The river schools don't have a lot of say and will likely do what is asked of them region wise.

Though from what is coming out in the news the last couple days, Dayton may have to find embezzled money out of the pockets of their former superintendent to be able to afford the travel expensenses for the long 10th region trips... But I guess thats another thread...

Not playing in the KHSAA field of teams.

Not playing in the KHSAA, not sure about the Christian league.

In tennis all the Campbell Co teams (NCC, Highlands etc) are in the 10th, while the Kenton teams are in the 9th. It never made sense to me that there was a difference in the two sports when almost everything else is the same.

It seems like the the 10th has recently been pulled in different directions. GRC and Montgomery should stay. The only change to the 10th should bringing Fleming back to the 10th, otherwise leave it as it is.
