February 27, 201313 yr As a parent of children in Fort Thomas Schools, the webmaster has started sending out these "advertisements" to all parents for extracurricular activities, etc. Yesterday I received an advertisement for a new youth football league. Campbell County Peewee Football is trying to recruit our kids for cheer and football. I did some checking and this is not Red Devils, nor the feeder program that has recently been created for Campbell County. It is a completely different team. Apparently this gentleman is attempting to form teams to play in the Boone Co Youth League. I honestly don't think their are enough kids for more teams. Plus, I think it's awful gutsy trying to recruit kids away from Fort Thomas to play football. That would be like recruiting kids to leave Campbell County to wrestle elsewhere. Thoughts?
February 27, 201313 yr As a parent of children in Fort Thomas Schools, the webmaster Webmaster for who?
February 27, 201313 yr Webmaster for who? Fort Thomas Schools sends out email blasts sent by the webmaster. I have no problem with them putting it out but I don't think they'll get too many takers.

You say that you don't care but I know for a fact there were some very unhappy school administrators last night. Evidently someone used the system without authorization. Not good!!!
February 27, 201313 yr I saw this as well and thought how much response they will get. There two (three?) major pee-wee football programs in the area now. Cov Cath has their middle school program as well.
February 27, 201313 yr You say that you don't care but I know for a fact there were some very unhappy school administrators last night. Evidently someone used the system without authorization. Not good!!! Last I heard, it was a simple misunderstanding as to what league was referenced. Shouldn't have been sent out, but was. Not the end of the world.
February 27, 201313 yr I will say I totally disagree with this person using the system for this. I mean c'mon, cutting the hand that feeds you.
February 27, 201313 yr Last I heard, it was a simple misunderstanding as to what league was referenced. Shouldn't have been sent out, but was. Not the end of the world. Absolutely not the end! Ironic this coming from you and what league was supposed to be referenced? If it's not the FTJFL, then you don't use the system. Right?
February 27, 201313 yr Author I think this fella may have a battle on his hands. As a supporter and volunteer for the FTJFL, I felt very defensive when I first read this advertisement but if the school makes money on doing it I guess that's good. If they sell our emails to one of these places, that's different. I guess if we don't want to read ad we can just delete, but I think we should support our own community in this case. I also heard of the improper use of the email system as well for an even more ridiculous idea but that probably has another thread.
February 27, 201313 yr The same Campbell County league is trying to recruit kids from South Kenton. Which in return South Kenton is a loud to sign up kids from Boone County.
February 27, 201313 yr Well, it certainly sounds like all those proponents of "school choice" in Ft. Thomas are feeling a little threatened at the prospect of kids being diverted from their precious varsity program! What happened to all those assertions of open competition we heard about all last year????!!!!

February 28, 201313 yr Maybe it was only supposed to be directed to those areas in Ft. Thomas that are in the Campbell Co school district.
February 28, 201313 yr I highly doubt that this is a big deal and I would be shocked if FTJFL lost a single kid to this new program...Just sayin Highlands does not worry about these types of things:thumb: I'll bet it doesnt happen again though
