The Holmes/NewCath game at the BOK that I attended had full lower arena endzones. I don't think that my eyes were playing tricks on me. Pretty much the whole lower arena was full also with fans perhaps in 1/4 of the upper section that I could see (couldn't see the upper section above me). There might've been empty single seats in the lower sections scattered about because perhaps some didn't want to sit alone or climb over so many to get to them. After the game was over there was a mass exodus, leaving not too many folks for the Cooper/St. Henry game. I cannot estimate total but the lower section was indeed pretty full all around for the 1st game.

 

I did not perceive the endzones to be full by any means. I was sitting with an ops manager for the BOKC and he even commented on how they were full.

BOK is a great place for the event. Minus that European round o bout in the traffic mix. Name one thing the government does right.

So... you didn't perceive them to be full but the ops manager did???

 

Anyhow... towards the end of the game I took a look around paying special attention to the endzones and even pointed it out to my brother saying "Wow... even the endzones look pretty full" ... Ok... I'll add that all the fans weren't exactly crammed together, but the endzones certainly had their share of comfortably seated attendees with ample breathing and leg room spread out in such a way to make the area look decently patronized. Ok... enough splitting hairs.

4,000 is a good number, even if it did look like more to many of us.

Look at Walter's highlight videos of the game and take notice of what you can see of the endzones in the video. From what's in the videos, looks like a lot of folks to me.

I have been to NKU games where the attendance was 2800. And you can shoot a cannon and not hit anyone. If there were less than 4000 people in the gym someone is doing some creative accounting. I would imagine the presale alone for the 4 schools was more than that. And add in all the people standing out on the concourse waiting for a the crowd from the first game to leave and I would say attendance had to be 6 or 7k easy.

There were people in all areas, but the lower arena was nowhere near full. In my particular area, I had a couple seats on all sides empty. Coats on a seat etc.. The end zones had room for double or more what was sitting there. There wasn't enough people in the entire building to fill every seat in the lower arena had you attempted to fill every single seat. Anyone in the upper arena, had they wanted to find a seat in the lower arena, could have easily found one.

One side was probably 3/4th full on one end. The other end was empty. Like SSC said, you could have sat in row two in that end zone with room to stretch out.

Walter... you and I were obviously at the same game... I'm not sure what game those who are severely low-balling the attendance estimate attended. By game's end I saw tons of fans in both lower level endzones, lower level sidelines were obviously well attended, and a fair amount in the uppers. Your highlights show this pretty plainly.
