Just wondering as I sometimes do: Was there an announced attendance figure for Tuesday night 9th Regions games at the Bank of Kentucky Center?

 

Had to easily be the largest crowd in attendance for a "Ninth Region only" basketball game ever!

 

My guess was nearly 7,000

I'd guess that, generally, 9th region tournament games attract between 3,000 - 4,000 (depending on matchups). The regional finals might crack 4,200 or so.

 

The Bank of Kentucky Center only holds 9,400 people...

I wasn't there, how full was the upper arena and bleacher section to the naked eye? For any event that has been there it always looks like there is more people there than there actually is.

Upper arena was about a quarter of the way full. Lower was full on both sidelines but not so much on the endzones.

3,979 sounds about right then. 10,000 seats in that place, if the endzones and upper arena were that small then no way there was 7,000 people.

For someone not familiar with the 9th Region school gyms, if the tournament wasn't held at NKU, what schools could hold the crowds? Are there any schools that could handle a crowd of 3,000+?

 

It is nice to see the NKU area being used successfully.

Holmes holds 3000. And I'm sure thats the biggest in the 9th.

I always thought Holmes held around 3,500. The tournament used to rotate between Holmes, Conner and eventually Ryle. My guess is they would likely add Boone and Cooper to the rotation if they still held the tournament in a HS gym. They are all in the 3,000 range.

Watch the Holmes/Newcath highlight videos...absolutely no way that game had less than 4k there. Somewhere between 6k and 7k would be my guess.

There were 3000 cars in the line for the roundabout at 6:15.

BOK is a great place for the event. Minus that European round o bout in the traffic mix. Name one thing the government does right.

I counted 12,300 peeps and had if confirmed by the concession matrons

Holmes holds 3000. And I'm sure thats the biggest in the 9th.

 

Holmes, Ryle & Conner are all capable of hosting & running an excellent regional tournament.
