There was another great running back from Dixie from the 60's that played for the San Fran 49 ers I thought he also won a super bowl.

While Mark played in many, unless my memory has failed me he does not have a ring.

While Unitas played for U of L he was from Pennsylvania and he never played in a Super Bowl.

George Blanda from UK was on the Raiders team that lost to the Packers in Super Bowl II but he was also from Pennsylvania.

What about Johnny U? He played at Louisville, where did he go to highschool at?

Pittsburgh, PA

Didn't the Redskins win a Super Bowl while Louisville's Joe Jacobi played as one of the "Hogs"?

I don't know if Buddy Ryan went to high school in Kentucky, but he lives here now and he has a Super Bowl ring.

Sherman Lewis from duPont Manual has a ring from Super Bowl XXXI when he was a coach on Holmgren's staff for the Packers.

I think Buddy is from Oklahoma.

Buddy is from Oklahoma, couldn't find the high school

Will Wolford and Cardwell Gardner missed out on a few.

I believe Jeff Brohm got one when he was with Denver.

Correct. However he is not a native Kentuckian.

What is Buddy Ryan's tie to Kentucky? Just wondering why he lived here now?
