Is Tebow Showing His True Feelings ?

Featured Replies

Again, supposition on my part which should have been evident by "strong chance." Pay attention.

I am paying attention. Your argument just keeps getting more and more hypocritical and absurd with each passing post.

Define "very sharp."

If I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum when it comes to the church's fundamental beliefs, I'm not being a member there.

If the person doing the preaching/teaching repeatedly says things I strongly oppose, I'm not being a member there.

To be a member where there are those kinds of differences is an endorsement of the beliefs. Again, it's why I don't go to this place if I'm Tebow & it's why I'm not a member of Rev. Wright's church if I'm the President.

Seriously, is there anyone that really believes Tebow would turn down any opportunity to share his message of Christ's love, regardless of the audience? I would venture his whole goal is to spread his message to as many people as possible, regardless of their beliefs.

Does anyone seriously think he'd turn down a speaking engagement for a Catholic church/group if asked to share his story/message?

Anyone gonna answer this question?

See and that's a consistent view. :thumb:

That's all I'm asking Clyde. Be consistent. You defended President Obama's belonging to Rev. Wright's church well before he came out and denounced the Rev. Here, you're taking the exact opposite stance.

There are members of the Catholic Church that do not agree with everything the church stands for. So it is probably safe to say there are members of the church where Tebow is speaking do not agree with all the leadership of that church believes. Yet they both still attend their churches regularly. So why is it hard for some to believe that he can speak there and not belief everything the pastor believes.

I do not understand it.

It's not hard at all to understand for most.

That's been my contention all along. If he gets up there and his message is support for this guys ministry of hate, then I'll be on that bandwagon Clyde is steering.

^If Tebow really believed that Catholicism is a satanic cult, as 75 mentioned, there's no chance he would have ever dated a Catholic girl. None.

That's my thoughts, particularly since it was reported she and her family had strong faith. My take on Tebow is he would go out with someone strong in their faith. The fact that she was Catholic leads me to think he doesn't have the low opinion of Catholics that his father reportedly does. My father had very strong but very wrong biases. Out of love and respect I did not call him out in public but we certainly shared plenty of arguments in private. This could be a similar situation.

I'm going to withhold any judgement until I hear what he actually talks about. I guess my biggest question pre-speech would be why this group with a radical leader? Of all the places he could speak why did he choose this one?

If he were to speak at a Catholic Church, would he contest their views? Or would he spread his consistent message, and leave the rest to the side?

Incorrect. I've already explained this. You don't like my explanation. Cool.

So by this argument if candiate Obama never got up and said he fully agreed with Rev Wright's proclamations then why the fuss during the election of 2008?

I'll be cool with Tim T if he says before, during, or after his speech that he disagrees with some of the outlandish beliefs but his goal was to help spread the word. If it's JUST spreading the word, while admirable and needed, it doesn't answer the question as to what he truly believes and , therefore, leaves him open to his true beliefs.

It's not that I don't like your explanation, it's that it makes absolutely zero sense.

You can search all you like, I never fussed over that topic.

Clyde, what's disappointing to me is that you are the guy who likes links, likes facts, likes something concrete to cast stones at someone. Hell, you begged people to watch the video of a high school basketball game because you had hard evidence to support your claim that you supported the officials in the contest. Even went so far as to withhold any judgement til you watched the game.

It's a bit hypoclydical to start reaming a guy before he ever opens his mouth, do you think?

Hypoclydical. Come on, I thought that was cute.

 you mean his true beliefs as you perceive them.
