February 19, 201313 yr Author Bar Rescue was at a bar somewhere in Ohio last season, does anyone remember where or know the bar? Win, Place and show. They changed the name to America Live and made it a BBQ joint. It looked to have a bright future but it has closed.
February 19, 201313 yr Win, Place and show. They changed the name to America Live and made it a BBQ joint. It looked to have a bright future but it has closed. It was on RT 4 near Hamilton, closed last August, the bar was on the show mid September. There was another on from Bridgetown that I heard is still open. They sure do know how to find holes in the walls, you wonder how they even stayed open with some of the owners.
February 19, 201313 yr I do agree with some of the sentiments here. You can change the look, the name, the feel, the style, the food, the bar and everything else about the restaurant. However, you can't necessarily change ownership. You have to have a semi-competent owner to run a business and if not, well you know what happens. The guy comes in and gives you all the tools to be successful but its about whether you use those tools correctly and make the correct decisions. He can't control that and thats why some of these remodeled businesses have failed. The most recent episode this week is ridiculous. How can you be an owner of a bar and not have ONE single employee? Thats an extremely devoted staff only hoping to make money off tips. Can he even legally do that? I'm not so sure.
February 19, 201313 yr The few episodes I have watched of this show have shown that the owners don't really listen to Jack Trapper's suggestions after he leaves... Now Trapper can be a jerk, but it cracks me up on how the owners react to Trapper. They signed up for the show, what do they expect?
February 19, 201313 yr Bar Rescue was at a bar somewhere in Ohio last season, does anyone remember where or know the bar? There was one Western Hills on Harrison? Something? Public House. They sent a couple of people to Ireland to become certified Guiness servers. Pretty cool.
February 19, 201313 yr Tapper gets right in these guys faces. The worst episode was that pirate theme bar, but I can't remember where it was. Looked like the worst place to have a cold beer.

February 19, 201313 yr I am moderately addicted to the show as well . The guys name is John Taffer. (not Jack Tripper or Trapper) and no, they haven't re-done the Regal Beagle in San Diego.....(the "over 40" crowd will get that one......hopefully) Anyway, yes, most of the owners have terrible ideas and hire their friends and relatives, drink at the bar and generally lose their Ar$e in the process. Taffer's style is rough but I guess he has the track record and knowledge. You have to tape the show because the amount of ads and filler space in between will kill you. Fast forward past them. The place in Cheviot was changed to the Public House.(forgot original name) Not sure if still around. There is also a new series with same format except they are working on Used Car lots. Should be interesting. Good thread starter Q-Ryche, on what local bars/restaurants could use his "expertise"....Just by watching the show you can get four easy steps that occur almost every show: 1. Fire the idiots 2. Clean the place 3. Shorten the menu 4. Less sugary ridiculous drinks Touchdown! You begin to make money....

I love how Taffer asks him what it would take to get rid of him. LOL Cincinnati Sinners Rock ! Are his parting words. LOL Uh, no they sounded awful!
