Bishop Brossart 51 Scott 41

Great game by the Mustangs. While they are playing well, and are clearly the 2nd best team in the 10th, I'm not sure they can beat the Indians.

Like this Brossart team though.

Kind of disappointed in the Jackson kid. First time seeing him play and after reading the hype about him on here I kind of expected a little more. Wasn't disappointed in the Trentman slam though

I would not use "disappointed" but I think the hype by others (note: not by him) has been more than his game. Plays hard. Attacks. Great athlete. D3 player in college should he choose to pursue it.

Big win for the Mustangs over a quality Scott Eagles team.

Brossart went on two major runs - a 20-0 run from around the five minunte mark of the second quarter, triggered by a Jake Jennings 3 and an encore reverse layup, until about the four minute mark of the third quarter - From down 18-8 to up 28-18, and then when Scott cut it to five points early in the fourth quarter at 35-30, Trentman hit bookend (near 3's) baskets, a 2 and a 3 triggering a 9-0 run that sealed it.

Trentman with a double-double (14-11), took two charges, blocked 2 shots, and threw down another monster dunk off of a missed Justin Saunders layup.

Mustangs hit their free-throws tonight - 17/19.

Will be nice to sit back and watch Scott and Campbell County duke it our for the berth in the district finals and punch their ticket to the regionals.

Note that the play-in games go on Monday this year, with the two semis games on Tuesday and the finals on Thursday.

Here is the link to the Alex Trentman dunk:

Quality win for the 'Stangs and the #1 seed in this district is big. Don't want to play Campbell and Nate in the district semis if you can avoid it.

Thanks so much for posting. Love Alex's game.

Congrats to Bishop Brossart :thumb:

Now I know why Scott had trouble shooting. They saw the Dave Schabel fathead in the student section.

Major distraction!

By the way; the gentleman who sang the National Anthem did a phenomenal job. That was second best to the young lady at Montgomery County. That young lady was only second best to Whitney Houston. I am not exaggerating in stating that she is amazing. Hopefully she performs at the Regional Tournament with the Scott Eagles!!

That was a thing of beauty..............NOT.

I do think Jackson is as good as they say he is. Also Class act on and off the court. Has respect from team mates and those who have to face him. Had 10 in the first quarter before Code was able to make the necessary adjustments.

Not sure the exact scoring. The game wasn't as close as the final score.

Scott jumped up and dominated early. Looked really ugly from a Brossart point of view. Brossart was taking too many contested jumpers, and Scott didn't take a shot outside of three feet.

Then in the middle of the second, Brossart cut down on the baseline, and started stealing some backdoor passes. Scott didn't get an easy bucket past the middle of the second.

Trentman was outstanding. Played fantastic and completely took over the game at times. Saunders was Saunders. He has great body control around the rim. Not sure how many each had, probably about 15 or so each? Rieger had a big game. Great defense and had a couple big takes to the bucket. Uebel wasn't hitting his shots but played a great floor game and great defense. Burns got in foul trouble, but he still had a lot of big rebounds and stick backs. A big and one in the third. Jennings with two big buckets in the second when Brossart was struggling. Big man Teddy McDonald gave some good minutes.

While Trentman played great, and Saunders is a Top 5 player in the region, the way they played tonight is why they're a tough out. Just a great team. All the pieces. Mentally tough after going down eight early in the game, and they fought back. Very impressive.

For Scott, Jackson's tough. Hard worker, good leader. I may have missed it, but I didn't think I heard Felts name much of the night.

Scott's a very good team. I love how Carr coaches.

So a 13-11 record is very good? How is that possible?

Todd Shafer does the PA for Brossart. He does the National Anthem almost for all of the games. Also does a show for charity every year around the holidays. The man is phenomenal !

Scott is a very good team.

Brad Carr has never been a believer in early season success, more out of the Ken Shields mold where you gear your regular season towards the post-season. The Eagles have played a tough schedule competitively taking some losses that will benefit them that might have dirtied up their win-loss record.

Make a case for them NOT being a very good team, outside of their win-loss record.
