PutMeInCoach Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Yup. Stinks they don't give full rides...
NKY Bandit Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Congrats Ben! Had heard that Butler was his favorite. Yes, Butler doesn't do athletic scholarships for football. They play in the PFL with Dayton, Morehead, Jacksonville, San Diego, etc- D1 schools without football schollys. A great academic school plus you get to watch basketball at Hinkle. Hard to beat.

Campus is beautiful. I'm not sure if anyone has every watched a game there, but the set up is awesome. It's right next to Hinkle and has dorms on the other. If you don't feel like sitting in the bleachers their is a hill you can sit on. Plus, the campus population is 70% female...
KIDZFIRST Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Congratulation to Ben! Ben has put in a lot of hard work over the years on the football field and most importantly in the classroom. I am not positive, but can only assume he will be getting some support from the academic department for his scholastic record at Simon Kenton. Ben is a great young man with a very supportive family that has and will continue to support him throughout all of his endeavors! Good luck Ben!
fan4nascar Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Congrats to Ben, I have had the pleasure watching him develop from the PeeWee leagues on up, great to see a good kid get an opportunity to continue playing the sport he loves and get one heck of an education. Not to mention that 70% female population....Wow!
NKY Bandit Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Noticed that another OL (Weber from Ryle) had also committed to BU. How do these two kids compare to each other?
Moken Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Congrats Ben on your decision!!! Best of luck at Butler, can't wait to watch you playing for the Bulldogs!!!
Qryche11 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Per NKYFAN.com I just read where Racke never committed to Butler. Can someone confirm?
Rhino859 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 From what I have heard, Racke was done dirty by Butler. He originally committed to them when they extended the offer/expressed the want for him however you want to put it. He was later told (at some point this week) that unfortunately they did not have a spot for him any longer. Keep in mind, this is just what I have heard and I don't know the level of truth to it, but if it truly is the case, in my opinion, that is completely unacceptable on Butler's part.
