Why one shot with the Kimber?

It's lighter. I can get on the target easily. It feels better in the crux of my right hand. And I'm more accurate with it. I can conceal it in an inside the belt holster I had custom made. The Sig I cannot conceal. It's way more gun. The recoil is less with the Sig because of the weight. If I was in a closed quarters gun exchange, I'd take the Sig, because the weight of it makes it way easier to get back on the target. The benefit I have with the Kimber is the laser sight, so that changes it a little. Another thing I don't like about the Kimber is the casings will eject right into your grill sometimes. I mean literally hit me in the forehead. Never happens with the Sig. Both are awesome.

Friend, I honestly don't know the difference in models. I just wanted a hand cannon. A local gun trader had this one and when I saw it, love at first sight! I traded my S&W 9mm and gave some boot, probably a little too much. Even so, I'm happy with my handgun now.

 

 

 

I think I figured out what the difference is between a S&W 29 and a S&W 629. I am pretty sure the 29 is blued steel while the 626 is stainless steel. Is your 29 Blued or Stainless?

 

I was at the gun show in Louisville and saw a nice 29. It had a wooden handle rather than a rubber handle and I think I would like the rubber handle so as to absorb the recoil of the gun. Saw a used S&W .357 model 686 that was in good condition and priced nice but the barrel was only 2 or 2.5 inches. I would like 4 inches or more. Oh well.

My youngest is just a natural with a pistol. I say it's young eyes, but it's more than that. Just one of those people who doesn't have to "work" to visualize and acquire the target. He put em in a 2inch group at 20 yards. I wasn't nearly that accurate.:irked:

 

Have you thought of encouraging your son to go into competitive shooting? If he continues to improve, he may be able to get a free ride on the shooting teams at UK or Murray. I say that assuming the shooting teams also compete with pistols, not just rifles.

I can get a deal on any Springfield Armory gun I choose. Right around 40% off retail. Not sure what I'll get. I'm sitting on a lot of guns already but just can't pass this up.

Any suggestions?

XD, XDM, XDS are all sweet shooting guns. If your wanting more of an investment gun they make some great 1911s

I haven't but I should. Lord knows he shoots enough. Never really thought about it.

Mine is blued with wood handle, true Eastwood gun. I'll try uploading a pic tonight. Gotta mow the grass now so I can do it again in 3 days.:irked:

Just swapped the Race Connector in my old Glock 23, trigger pull is now about half of factory trigger pull. Now about 3lbs, I'm loving it. Best money I've spent on a gun. Less than $20 and they installed it in the gun for my son when he was at the gun store today.

 

If you've got a Glock I would highly recommend this simple upgrade.

Just swapped the Race Connector in my old Glock 23, trigger pull is now about half of factory trigger pull. Now about 3lbs, I'm loving it. Best money I've spent on a gun. Less than $20 and they installed it in the gun for my son when he was at the gun store today.

 

If you've got a Glock I would highly recommend this simple upgrade.

If someone plans on using the gun for self defense? If so, this guy does not recommend altering the trigger. Not sure if I agree with him but interesting to consider.

 

I don't agree with any of that garb. It all depends how familiar you are with your weapon. And that's it. Bottom line.

 

All a new englander's opinion. Not one scintilla of truth or law in his remarks. I'd like to see if our of our attorney folks could comment on the legality of such mularkey.

Mine is in no way a "Hair Trigger" but it is a much more controllable trigger. There is a lot less chance of pulling off of the target due to trigger pull now than there was before.

I can see how in a high profile case any and everything you do to a weapon would be scrutinized, but IMO that should not and would not have any affect on the case. As you said there is no law in his remarks and I think the only place this would even come into play in a court room would be in one of the Liberal Utopias in America.
