But there are a lot of weapons out there whose use for self defense cannot be justified. The framework for gun registration needs to be streamlined so that the enforcement costs are reasonable. What do you consider unjustifed? Let me guess AR's right? AR's fire a round slightly bigger that a 22 rifle in diameter. An AR fire's only in semi-automatic mode, one round per trigger pull, just like a pistol (almost all of which shoot bigger rounds). AR BTW stands for Armalite Rifle, named after the company that developed them. The only difference between an "AR" and most other rifles is that they are black in most cases, look like military M-16's and M-4's, have pistol grips and accessory rails to hold lights and optics. So if you are not against legal ownership, why would you be against this one type of firearm that is used in less than 1% of gun crimes?

I can agree with that totally. The problem seems to be people using misguided information to stir up emotion on both sides. If we would use statistics, facts, law, and common sense, this would no longer be an issue.

January 30, 201313 yr Author If all current laws were enforced a lot of issues would be solved also. Example: It is a federal crime to give false information on a 4473 form when you buy a gun, yet nearly 1.5 million sales have been denied and only 2 prosecutions have been under taken. If you tell the truth on the 4473 and answer the questions correctly you will be approved, if you get denied then you had to of lied on the form somewhere.

Here is the link again dated 1/22/2013 Assault Rifle not used in Sandy Hook Shooting*|*American Live Wire You stated there was "a consensus." I think that assertion is far from the truth. The site you just posted loses serious credibility to me when they seem fixated on the way the story moved from one thing within 12 hours to something different within 48 hours. I have never heard of these people nor do I see any credibility except to perpetuate the "hoax" myth. The shotgun is what was in the trunk and what I heard within a few days of the event. You're entitled to your opinion Jumper Dad but what I'm pointing out is that many of these allegations are answered already by the police investigations.
